Egypt Expands Diplomatic Contacts

During a telephone conversation held on Sunday, President Sisi said Cairo has been actively communicating with multiple stakeholders involved in the ongoing dialogue between Washington and Tehran. He noted that Egypt is working to encourage progress toward a broad agreement that could help reduce friction between the two countries and contribute to regional security.

Sisi emphasized that Egypt’s diplomatic approach is guided by international law and respect for national sovereignty. He also stressed the importance of protecting the rights of nations to manage and benefit from their own resources without external interference.

France Calls for Regional Stability

President Macron highlighted France’s continued efforts to prevent further instability in the Middle East. He underscored the importance of preserving peace through dialogue and cooperation, warning against developments that could increase uncertainty in the region.

Macron also pointed to the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes. He stressed that uninterrupted navigation through the waterway remains essential for global commerce and energy markets, calling for unrestricted passage for international shipping.

Trump Signals Progress in Nuclear Discussions

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump indicated that negotiations with Iran are moving closer to a potential nuclear agreement. Speaking in an interview at the White House, Trump said his administration has made preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons a central objective of the talks.

According to Trump, discussions have produced encouraging results, although several key issues remain under negotiation. He suggested that both sides are approaching a possible breakthrough but cautioned that alternatives remain available if diplomacy does not succeed.

Focus Remains on Nuclear Restrictions

Trump stated that Iranian representatives have accepted provisions designed to prevent the development or acquisition of nuclear weapons. He described this commitment as a critical requirement for any final agreement.

The US President explained that negotiators broadened the language under consideration after concerns were raised about the possibility of obtaining nuclear capabilities through external sources. As a result, the proposed terms now reportedly address both domestic development and acquisition from outside parties.

Negotiations Continue Despite Challenges

While expressing optimism, Trump acknowledged that the negotiations have been demanding and time-consuming. He characterized the discussions as complex, reflecting the high stakes involved for both countries and the wider international community.

Despite the challenges, he said gradual progress is being made and that his administration remains focused on securing an outcome that meets US security objectives. Trump reiterated his preference for a diplomatic resolution but maintained that Washington is prepared to consider other measures if an acceptable agreement cannot be reached.

The developments come as international leaders continue to monitor the negotiations closely, viewing the outcome as an important factor in determining future stability across the Middle East and beyond.
