The project introduces her in an action-oriented role that differs significantly from her previous television appearances, offering viewers a fast-paced narrative built around advanced technology and combat.

Actress Drawn to an Unfamiliar Challenge

Speaking about her decision to join the series, Smriti said the opportunity to perform sword-fighting sequences for the first time played a major role in convincing her to accept the project. She explained that the combination of a contemporary storyline, AI-inspired elements, and dynamic action made the series stand out. The show is also based on a well-known Chinese drama, a factor that further increased her interest in becoming part of the adaptation.

According to the actress, learning a completely new skill under the supervision of a professional fight instructor turned the experience into an exciting journey. Warrior Character Brings a New On-Screen Look

In They Chose Wrong Enemy, Smriti portrays a fearless warrior trained at Brahmashila, a respected Gurukul known for preparing highly skilled fighters. She described the character as disciplined, courageous, and committed to her responsibilities.

The actress also revealed that her appearance in the series has been designed to match the strength of the role. Smriti admitted that the action sequences proved to be the most demanding part of filming. Since she had never handled a sword before, adapting to the weight of the weapon and mastering combat techniques required dedicated practice.

She credited the fight master for providing continuous guidance throughout the training process. Learning the correct stance, movement, and timing while maintaining safety during repeated takes demanded both physical stamina and concentration. With scenes filmed from multiple camera angles, the same action had to be performed several times, making the experience physically challenging but professionally rewarding.

Reflecting on the increasing popularity of short-form entertainment, Smriti believes changing viewing habits have contributed significantly to the success of micro-dramas. She noted that audiences today often prefer content that can be watched quickly without investing hours into a long-running series.

Each episode of They Chose Wrong Enemy runs for approximately two minutes, allowing viewers to enjoy the story at their convenience. She also pointed out that finite-format storytelling offers audiences the satisfaction of completing an entire narrative within a limited number of episodes, making the format especially appealing for digital platforms.

Smriti explained that acting in micro-dramas comes with its own creative demands. With only a brief duration available in each episode, actors have very little time to establish emotional depth or develop their characters gradually.
