Cinema – Workforce Recognition and Social Impact in Indian Cinema – A special screening of actor and politician Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata took place in Bhubaneswar, bringing together several prominent personalities from Odisha’s political and cultural circles. The event was attended by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, and Kangana herself, who interacted with the media after the screening.

Call for Tax-Free Status
During her interaction with journalists, Kangana spoke about the central theme of the film and its focus on ordinary citizens whose efforts often remain unnoticed despite their role in building the nation. She stated that the story pays tribute to people whose dedication contributes significantly to India’s progress and development.
The actor also revealed that she had appealed to the authorities to consider granting the film tax-free status. According to her, the response from the concerned stakeholders has been encouraging, and she expressed confidence that the proposal would receive positive consideration.
Inspiration Behind the Film’s Title
Kangana had earlier shared details about the origin of the film’s title during the trailer launch event. She explained that the phrase Bharat Bhagya Vidhata was inspired by terminology used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while referring to workers and labourers.
According to the actress, the Prime Minister has previously introduced several terms intended to offer greater dignity and recognition to different sections of society. She noted that words such as “Divyangjan” for specially-abled individuals and “Vishwakarma” for skilled artisans reflected a similar approach. She said the phrase used for labourers resonated strongly with the filmmakers, ultimately leading them to adopt it as the title of the project.
Story Focuses on an Everyday Hero
In Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, Kangana portrays a staff nurse whose commitment and service often go unrecognized. The film seeks to highlight the lives of ordinary individuals who continue to perform their responsibilities with dedication despite receiving little public attention.
The narrative is expected to spotlight themes of perseverance, social contribution, and respect for workers who play an important role in society. Through the character of the nurse, the filmmakers aim to present a relatable story that reflects the experiences of many people working quietly behind the scenes.
