BeverlyHillsShooting – A 35-year-old woman has been formally charged with multiple serious offenses after authorities say she opened fire near a luxury home in Beverly Hills owned by global music star Rihanna. Prosecutors allege the shooting placed several people inside the property at risk and could lead to a life sentence if the accused is convicted in court.

Multiple Felony Counts Filed in Los Angeles

Court documents obtained by media outlets show that the accused, Ivanna Ortiz, is facing a total of 14 felony charges related to the incident. Among the most serious is attempted murder, which prosecutors claim was carried out intentionally and with prior planning.

In addition to that charge, the criminal complaint includes ten counts of assault involving a semiautomatic firearm. Ortiz is also charged with three counts of shooting at an inhabited building or vehicle, reflecting allegations that gunfire was directed toward occupied properties.

Legal authorities say the number and severity of the charges reflect the danger posed by the alleged actions. If a jury ultimately finds her guilty on all counts, the potential penalty could include a life sentence in state prison.

Incident Allegedly Took Place Outside Singer’s Residence

During a press briefing, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman confirmed that the property involved belongs to Rihanna, the internationally known singer and entrepreneur. The home is where she lives with rapper A$AP Rocky and their young children.

Prosecutors claim Ortiz drove to the residence and fired several rounds from a semiautomatic weapon toward the house. At the time of the alleged shooting, eight individuals were reportedly inside the property.

Authorities said those present included Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, their children, Rihanna’s mother, and two members of the household staff. Despite the gunfire, no injuries were reported.

Gunfire Also Reportedly Directed at Nearby Property

Investigators say the incident was not limited to a single home. According to the complaint, shots were also fired toward a neighboring residence where two people were present at the time.

Officials say this aspect of the case contributed to the total number of felony counts filed against the suspect. Law enforcement agencies are continuing to review evidence related to both locations as part of the ongoing investigation.

Prosecutors Condemn Violence in Residential Neighborhoods

District Attorney Hochman strongly criticized the alleged actions, emphasizing the risks associated with discharging a firearm in a populated residential area.

In a statement released by his office, Hochman warned that acts of violence in neighborhoods will be aggressively prosecuted. He said that firing a weapon in an area where families live creates a serious threat to public safety.

Authorities also noted that the situation could have resulted in injuries or worse given the number of people present at the homes involved.

Court Proceedings and Legal Representation

Ortiz appeared in court earlier this week accompanied by Deputy Public Defender Jamarcus Bradford. According to court reports, Bradford initially entered a not guilty plea on her behalf but later withdrew it pending the official arraignment.

The arraignment has been scheduled for March 25, when Ortiz is expected to formally respond to the charges in court.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office confirmed that their office has been assigned to represent Ortiz in the case. The spokesperson said the legal team will ensure that the defendant receives all protections guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution.

Because the matter remains active in court, officials from the defender’s office said they cannot discuss the allegations in detail at this stage.

No Public Response From Rihanna’s Team

So far, neither Rihanna nor representatives for the singer have publicly commented on the reported incident. Authorities have also not indicated whether the alleged suspect had any prior connection to the household.

Investigators say the case will proceed through the legal process as prosecutors present evidence supporting the charges.
