TenderScam – Bihar Vigilance Raids Intensify Probe Into Contract Irregularities
TenderScam – The investigation into the alleged tender allocation scam linked to Rishu Shree gained significant momentum on Friday as the Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) carried out coordinated searches at several locations across Patna. The operation focused on properties connected to two suspended IAS officers and a private infrastructure company director as authorities continued to examine suspected irregularities in government contract awards.

Searches Conducted at Key Locations
Early in the day, SVU officials arrived at the government residence of suspended IAS officer Yogesh Sagar in Gardanibagh Colony. Investigators spent several hours reviewing files, electronic equipment, and records believed to be connected with government projects and financial dealings. During the search, officials reportedly collected multiple documents that will now undergo detailed examination.
At the same time, another SVU team launched a search at the Nehru Path residence of suspended IAS officer Abhilasha Sharma. Sources familiar with the operation said the residence was locked when investigators reached the location. Officials later entered the premises through staff quarters and proceeded with the inspection.
Officers Absent During Operations
According to information available from the investigation, neither Abhilasha Sharma nor Yogesh Sagar was present at their respective residences when the searches were conducted. Investigators inspected different sections of the properties and reviewed documents, digital storage devices, and records that may provide insight into the process through which government tenders were awarded.
The searches form part of a broader effort by authorities to establish whether procedural violations occurred in the allocation of public contracts.
Focus on Contractor and Company Records
The SVU also conducted searches at locations associated with Pawan Kumar, Director of Matre Seva Infra Private Limited, in Patna’s Beur area. Investigators examined company-related documents, financial records, and files linked to government contracts awarded to the firm.
Officials believe the material recovered during these operations could help clarify financial transactions and determine whether any irregularities occurred during the tender process. The seized records are expected to play a crucial role in the next phase of the investigation.
Allegations Under Examination
Investigative agencies are examining claims that certain government officials may have assisted in securing public contracts for firms allegedly connected to the main accused, Rishu Shree. In return, investigators are probing allegations that illegal financial benefits were exchanged as part of the arrangement.
The case attracted widespread attention after the SVU registered a formal FIR and initiated a detailed inquiry into the matter. Following the registration of the case, the Bihar government placed both IAS officers under suspension pending the outcome of the investigation.
Interrogation Expands Scope of Probe
Rishu Shree remains in the custody of investigating agencies and has been questioned extensively in recent days. Sources indicate that information gathered during these interrogations has prompted authorities to widen the scope of the inquiry.
Investigators are now examining the possible involvement of government officials, contractors, and other individuals who may have had links to the tender allocation process. Officials are reviewing a growing volume of documentary and digital evidence collected during the ongoing operation.
Investigation Continues
Authorities have stated that conclusions regarding the extent of the alleged network and any possible violations will only be reached after all evidence has been carefully analysed. Forensic examination of electronic records and scrutiny of financial documents remain ongoing.
The search operations are continuing, and investigators are expected to determine future legal and administrative action based on the findings that emerge from the evidence currently under review.
