Tej Pratap Yadav: Patna home, Lalu Yadav attends the Makar Sankranti feast.
Tej Pratap Yadav: the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), attended the traditional Dahi-Chura feast on the occasion of Makar Sankranti on Wednesday at the Patna home of his older son, Tej Pratap Yadav, the leader of the Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD). Tej Pratap was seated next to his father during the event, which has garnered a lot of political attention.

Arif Mohammed Khan, the governor of Bihar, attended the Dahi-Chura festival as well. Sadhu and Prabhunath Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav’s maternal uncles, were also present for the feast. But Lalu Yadav had already departed by the time Sadhu Yadav arrived at the house.
Tej Pratap Yadav’s familial relationships
The event has given rise to new conjecture on a potential reconciliation between Tej Pratap Yadav and Lalu Prasad Yadav. The fact that this is the first time Lalu Yadav has been to Tej Pratap’s new house since Tej Pratap left the family home after a picture of him with a lady went viral on social media is noteworthy.
Following the scandal, Lalu Prasad Yadav officially severed connections with Tej Pratap and removed him from the RJD for six years on the grounds of “irresponsible behaviour.” Later, in an anguished plea to his father, Tej Pratap said that certain “greedy people” were manipulating his life and that Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad Yadav meant the world to him.
Tej Pratap later founded his own party and ran on its platform in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, but he lost.
On January 13, Tej Pratap sent out the invitation.
A day before, Tej Pratap had invited everyone to the Makar Sankranti feast. He claimed in a January 13 post on X that he personally invited his parents to the “historic Dahi-Chura Bhoj” on January 14 after visiting their home at 10 Circular Road to ask for their blessings. Additionally, he spoke of spending time with his niece Katyayani and seeing his younger brother, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav.I went to 10 Circular Road today to see my mother, the honorable Smt. Rabri Devi Ji, and father, the honorable Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav Ji, in order to ask for their blessings. Additionally, I saw Tejashwi, my younger brother and the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, and gave him an invitation letter for the “Historic Dahi-Chuda Feast” event, which will take place tomorrow, January 14, in honor of Makar Sankranti. In addition, I got the amazing opportunity to play with my beloved niece Katyayani on my lap today,” he wrote on X.
Lalu Prasad Yadav’s attendance at the occasion has sparked debate in political circles over whether or not the father-son relationship is gradually improving.
