Politics – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday sharpened his criticism of the Congress party during an election rally in Assam, alleging that the opposition intends to introduce legislation aimed at protecting illegal infiltrators if it comes to power in the state. Speaking at Gogamukh in Dhemaji district, he asserted that such a move would not be allowed by the BJP or its allies.

Addressing a large gathering, Modi claimed that senior Congress leaders have been openly discussing plans to bring in a new legal framework that would safeguard infiltrators. He reiterated the party’s intention to implement a Uniform Civil Code and ensure stronger protections for tribal communities under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. Modi stressed that preserving Assam’s cultural identity and safeguarding indigenous communities would remain a priority.
