Leadership Decision Receives Unanimous Backing

Addressing journalists on Monday, JD(U) National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha said Nitish Kumar had already been elected to the party’s top organizational post before receiving formal approval from the National Council. He stated that the endorsement marked the final stage of a process carried out in accordance with party procedures.

Jha also spoke about the growing role of Nishant Kumar within the party and government. According to him, Nishant Kumar, who is currently serving in the Bihar government, is expected to play a larger role in the party’s future. He noted that while Nishant is presently focused on administrative responsibilities, he could become more actively involved in organizational affairs in the years ahead.

Nitish Kumar Highlights Party Growth

During his address to party delegates, Nitish Kumar thanked council members for their confidence and support. He said the party had built a strong reputation among the public through its commitment to development and social justice.

The JD(U) leader also pointed to the party’s expanding grassroots presence, stating that its primary membership has crossed the 10 million mark. He credited this growth to sustained engagement with people and the party’s development-focused agenda.

Focus on Bihar’s Development Journey

Reflecting on Bihar’s transformation over the past two decades, Nitish Kumar said the state faced significant governance and development challenges before 2005. He maintained that successive governments led by him had worked with dedication and transparency to improve infrastructure, public services, and welfare programs across different regions of the state.

According to Kumar, efforts have been made to ensure that development benefits reach all sections of society. He emphasized that inclusive growth remains a central objective of the party’s political philosophy.

Senior Leaders Attend National Council Meeting

The National Council gathering was attended by several senior party figures, including Deputy Chief Ministers Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Choudhary, along with Members of Parliament and other key office-bearers.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Kumar Choudhary expressed confidence that Nishant Kumar’s increasing participation in party activities would bring fresh momentum to the organization. He said the involvement of younger leadership could help strengthen the party’s outreach and future strategy.

Party Praises Smooth Leadership Transition

Later, JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad briefed the media about resolutions adopted during the meeting. He described Nitish Kumar’s earlier decision to step aside from the Chief Minister’s position as an example of political maturity and institutional trust.

Prasad said the transfer of responsibilities within the alliance reflected a cooperative approach and demonstrated a political culture based on consensus rather than confrontation.

Relief Assistance for Farmers Discussed

Sanjay Kumar Jha also commented on the Bihar government’s ongoing relief efforts for farmers affected by storms and hailstorms. He noted that financial assistance is being transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

According to Jha, the state government has established mechanisms to provide quick support during natural disasters. He said affected families are identified and provided assistance without unnecessary delays, ensuring timely relief reaches those impacted by adverse weather conditions.
