CM Highlights Role of Public and Private Healthcare

Addressing the inauguration programme, Saha stressed the need to continue improving government-run healthcare facilities across Tripura. At the same time, he acknowledged the contribution of private hospitals, saying that both sectors have an important role in strengthening the overall healthcare system and expanding access to medical services.

The Chief Minister’s Office said the inauguration programme also included a blood donation camp. Saha attended the camp and expressed appreciation to the organisers as well as those who donated blood. He recognised their participation as an important contribution to public health and humanitarian service.

New Facility Expected to Improve Access

The opening of the Supra Multispeciality Hospital is expected to strengthen the availability of specialised healthcare services in Agartala. The facility could also provide an additional option for patients seeking treatment within the state, reducing the need for residents to depend entirely on existing hospitals for specialised medical care.

The inauguration comes as the state government continues to focus on improving essential public services and infrastructure. Healthcare remains among the key areas requiring sustained investment as demand for specialised treatment grows.

CM Reviews State Power Sector

Earlier in the day, Saha chaired a high-level meeting to examine several matters concerning Tripura’s power sector. Senior officials from the state government and Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited attended the meeting.

Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath and Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy were also present. Officials briefed the Chief Minister on issues connected with the functioning and ongoing work in the electricity sector, while various development-related matters were taken up for review.

Agartala Smart City Works Discussed

Progress on projects being carried out under the Agartala Smart City initiative was also reviewed during the meeting. Officials presented updates on the implementation of different works and informed the Chief Minister about their current status.

The Smart City projects form part of the broader effort to improve urban infrastructure and public facilities in Agartala. The review was aimed at assessing progress and addressing issues connected with the implementation of ongoing works.

Roads and Highways Maintenance Under Review

The meeting also covered the repair and maintenance of national highways and roads being handled by the Public Works Department across Tripura. Road connectivity and upkeep remain important for movement between different parts of the state, particularly for residents, businesses and essential services.

The discussions reflected the government’s wider focus on infrastructure development alongside improvements in public services.

Senior State Badminton Championship Inaugurated

Saha also inaugurated the 54th Senior State Badminton Championship 2026 at the NSRCC Badminton Indoor Hall in Agartala. He addressed participants and those attending the sporting event.

The championship brings together senior badminton players at the state level and provides a platform for athletes to compete and showcase their abilities. The Chief Minister’s participation added to a day marked by developments across healthcare, infrastructure, power and sports in Tripura.
