Seyon – Sivakarthikeyan Enjoys Quiet Break Before Returning to Film Shoot
Seyon – Actor Sivakarthikeyan is spending a peaceful holiday in the hills before returning to work on his upcoming Tamil film Seyon. The actor is expected to resume filming in Madurai during the first week of August, where the production is preparing for an extended shooting schedule.

Sivakarthikeyan recently shared glimpses of his vacation in Ooty through a series of photographs on Instagram. The images show him sitting alone on a jeep against the backdrop of mist-covered mountains, reflecting a calm and relaxed mood. Accompanying the pictures, he wrote, “A pause. A breeze. A little peace,” offering fans a look at his quiet getaway before work begins again.
Shooting Set to Resume in Madurai
According to sources, the actor will soon join the Seyon team for the next phase of filming in Madurai. The upcoming schedule is expected to be one of the longest and most demanding parts of the production. The film’s first shooting schedule was successfully completed earlier this year, with the makers officially announcing the milestone in June through their social media platforms.
Film Began With Grand Launch Ceremony
Seyon officially went on floors on May 18 with a traditional pooja ceremony held in Madurai. The event was attended by several members of the film industry, including veteran actor and producer Kamal Haasan. The film is jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Turmeric Media.
The project stars Baghyashrii Borse opposite Sivakarthikeyan, marking her first direct Tamil-language film. The casting has generated considerable interest among movie enthusiasts, who are eager to see the fresh on-screen pairing.
Director Shared Memorable Moment Before Production
Ahead of the film’s launch, director Sivakumar Murugesan shared a video featuring the core team meeting Kamal Haasan at his office to sign the production agreement. In the clip, the filmmaker expressed his admiration for the veteran actor, recalling that he once wished only for Kamal Haasan’s autograph but instead received a signed production agreement, calling it a memorable milestone in his career.
Teaser Sparked Curiosity Among Fans
Audience interest in Seyon increased significantly after the makers released a special glimpse titled The Celebration. The preview introduced viewers to a rural backdrop inspired by the Maasi Kalari festival held at the Karumaathur Virumaandi Temple.
The sequence begins inside a local police station following a violent clash during the festival. Police officers question several people brought in after the incident, leading to a series of conversations that reveal unusual events linked to local customs and village rivalries. The teaser gradually builds suspense before introducing Sivakarthikeyan in an intense appearance connected with a religious procession.
Rural Entertainer With Festival Backdrop
The glimpse suggests that much of the story unfolds in and around Madurai, with village traditions playing an important role in the narrative. Sivakarthikeyan is expected to portray a character unlike his previous roles, with the film blending action, drama and rural culture.
The production also reunites the actor with Raaj Kamal Films International following the commercial and critical success of Amaran. Produced by Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran, the film also marks the first collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and music composer Santhosh Narayanan.
Technical Team Behind the Project
The film’s cinematography is handled by Vivek Vijayakumar, while San Lokesh serves as editor. Production design has been created by R. K. Nagu, with costume design by Keerthy Sampath and Joshua Maxwell. The makers have announced that Seyon is targeting a theatrical release in October, adding to the anticipation surrounding one of the year’s major Tamil releases.
