YSR – Jagan Leads Tributes to Rajasekhara Reddy at Idupulapaya Memorial
YSR – YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday paid floral respects to his father, former Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, on the late leader’s 77th birth anniversary. The tribute programme was held at the YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya, located in Kadapa district.

Family Members Join Memorial Observance
Jagan Mohan Reddy arrived at the memorial along with members of the YS family and placed wreaths at the resting place of Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Religious leaders conducted special prayers during the ceremony, with family members and party representatives taking part in the observance.
Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, widely known as YSR, served as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and remains a prominent figure in the state’s political history. His birth anniversary is observed each year by party workers, supporters and people who remember his public welfare initiatives.
Leaders Recall Welfare and Development Initiatives
Speaking on the occasion, YSR Congress Party leaders remembered Dr. YSR for his focus on social welfare, agriculture, irrigation, healthcare and education. They said his policies were aimed at supporting low-income families, farmers and people in rural areas.
Party representatives also highlighted his role in expanding access to medical treatment and strengthening irrigation infrastructure during his tenure. They described him as a leader who remained closely connected with the public and gave priority to issues affecting economically weaker sections.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other leaders said the former Chief Minister’s approach to governance continues to influence public discussions around welfare and development in Andhra Pradesh.
Vijayamma and Bharathi Pay Floral Respects
Among those present at the YSR Ghat were Dr. YSR’s wife YS Vijayamma and daughter-in-law YS Bharathi. Other relatives, senior YSRCP leaders, former and serving public representatives, party workers and supporters also offered floral tributes.
The gathering remained peaceful as attendees participated in the prayer ceremony and remembered the late leader’s contribution to public life. Several supporters travelled to Idupulapaya from different parts of Andhra Pradesh to attend the annual remembrance programme.

A large number of admirers assembled at the memorial throughout the day to honour Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Many visitors placed flowers at the memorial and paid their respects in silence.
