Rajeev Bindal – Himachal BJP Chief Questions Congress on Jobs and Governance

Rajeev Bindal –  Himachal Pradesh BJP president Rajeev Bindal on Wednesday criticised Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, saying he does not need any validation from a Congress leader. Bindal said his long record as an elected representative and the support he has received from people across the state remain the only recognition that matters to him.

Bindal cites years of public service

The BJP leader said he has worked as a public representative in Himachal Pradesh for nearly 35 years. According to him, voters have repeatedly placed their trust in him, and that public confidence is more important than political remarks made by opponents.

Bindal said the Congress and Vikramaditya Singh had already received a clear response from voters during the recent Panchayati Raj, Urban Local Body and Municipal Corporation elections. He claimed that the outcomes of those polls reflected the public mood towards the ruling party.

BJP points to recent election outcomes

He alleged that Congress leaders have become frustrated after facing electoral setbacks in several local elections. Bindal said this disappointment was now visible in what he described as careless and politically motivated statements.

According to him, such comments cannot shift attention away from the issues faced by the people of Himachal Pradesh. He said the state government should focus on addressing public concerns rather than engaging in personal political attacks.

Questions raised over employment commitments

Bindal accused the Congress-led government of failing to deliver on major promises made before the Assembly elections. He said unemployment has become one of the most serious concerns in the state, particularly among young people seeking jobs.

The BJP president referred to Congress commitments of creating five lakh employment opportunities and providing one lakh government jobs. He alleged that the government has not fulfilled these assurances despite being in office for several years.

He said young people in Himachal Pradesh are waiting for a clear explanation regarding employment plans and recruitment opportunities. Instead of responding to these concerns, he claimed, the government was attempting to move the discussion towards unrelated political issues.

Ram Temple issue also raised

Speaking on the Ram Temple matter, Bindal said the country was familiar with the Congress party’s earlier position on the issue. He said the construction of the temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram came after a long legal, social and religious movement involving many supporters and devotees.

Bindal alleged that Congress had opposed or delayed the temple’s construction in the past due to what he described as appeasement-based politics. He said the party was now trying to present itself as supportive of Lord Ram, a position he claimed voters would assess on the basis of its past record.

BJP says it will continue to seek accountability

The BJP leader said the Congress government should respond to questions related to employment, governance and promises made to voters. He added that public issues should remain the focus of political debate in the state.

Bindal said the BJP would continue to raise matters linked to unemployment, public services and government performance. He stated that the party would seek accountability from the Congress government for commitments that, according to the BJP, have not yet been fulfilled.
