Admissions – Delhi University Opens Undergraduate Registration Amid Pending CBSE Re-evaluation Results
Admissions – CUET UG admission process and CSAS registration updates for 2026-27 academic session – Delhi University has started the first phase of undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic year, allowing students awaiting revised CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation results to complete their registration without delay. The university has introduced a temporary provision to ensure that affected candidates can participate in the admission process while waiting for their updated scores.

Temporary Mark Entry Allowed for Affected Students
The University of Delhi has advised CBSE Class 12 students whose re-evaluation results are still pending to enter their original board examination marks while registering on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. According to university officials, these details can be revised later after the Central Board of Secondary Education announces the updated results. The move is expected to prevent any disadvantage for candidates whose revised marks have not yet been released.
Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi said that applicants should not be concerned, as the CSAS portal will remain open for an extended period. This will provide enough time for students to replace their previously entered marks with the revised scores once they become available.
Class 12 Scores Have Limited Role in Admissions
University officials also clarified that Class 12 marks are not the primary factor in undergraduate admissions. Their main purpose is to confirm that candidates have successfully completed the qualifying examination. The marks are considered only in situations where two or more applicants secure identical admission scores, making them relevant solely for tie-breaking.
This clarification comes as many students expressed concerns that delayed re-evaluation results could negatively affect their admission prospects.
Most Re-evaluation Results Already Declared
The CBSE has already completed the re-evaluation process for the majority of applicants. Education Ministry officials recently indicated that revised results have been announced for nearly 1.47 lakh of the approximately 1.68 lakh students who requested verification of marks or re-evaluation, covering about 87 percent of all applications.
The remaining results, affecting nearly 20,000 Class 12 students, are expected to be released shortly. Until then, Delhi University’s temporary registration arrangement is intended to ensure that these candidates remain eligible for the ongoing admission process.
CUET-Based Admissions Continue for 2026-27 Session
Delhi University officially launched Phase I of undergraduate admissions under the CSAS framework for the 2026-27 academic session. Students who appeared for CUET (UG) 2026 can complete their registration on the CSAS portal using their CUET application number.
Admissions will be conducted exclusively on CUET (UG) 2026 scores, provided applicants meet the eligibility requirements for their chosen programmes. This year, the university is offering admission to 73 undergraduate programmes along with more than 100 Bachelor of Arts programme combinations across its 67 affiliated colleges.
Phase II to Focus on Subject Mapping and Preferences
During the second phase of the admission process, candidates will be required to match the subjects they studied in Class 12 with those taken in the CUET examination. After completing this subject mapping exercise, applicants will be able to submit their preferred courses and colleges.
Delhi University has stated that the schedule for Phase II will be announced separately, giving students additional time to complete the next stage of the admission process after the initial registration phase concludes.
