NEET UG 2025 – NTA Expands Candidate Alerts Through WhatsApp Service

NEET UG 2025 –  The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a new communication initiative to provide timely updates to candidates appearing for the upcoming NEET-UG re-examination scheduled on June 21. Through its official WhatsApp channel, the agency is now sharing important exam-related notifications and re-test centre details with more than 22 lakh students across India and overseas.

The step is aimed at improving direct communication with candidates and ensuring that critical information reaches them quickly and securely ahead of the examination.

Official WhatsApp Channel Introduced for Candidates

As preparations continue for the nationwide re-examination, the NTA has advised students to rely only on messages sent from its verified WhatsApp account. According to the agency, all official notifications distributed through WhatsApp will come from the number +91 78279 80287.

Candidates have been asked to verify the authenticity of the account before acting on any message. Officials emphasized that the account will display a blue verification badge along with the name “National Testing Agency,” helping students distinguish genuine communication from fake or misleading messages.

Agency Warns Against Fraudulent Messages

The examination authority has issued a strong warning regarding impersonation attempts and misleading communications circulating online. Students have been told not to trust any account claiming to represent the NTA unless it carries the verified badge.

Officials noted that fraudulent actors may attempt to exploit the examination process by sending fake notifications or requests. To prevent candidates from becoming victims of scams, the agency has clarified that its WhatsApp service functions only as a one-way information channel.

The NTA stated that it will never ask candidates to share passwords, OTPs, personal details, or payment information through WhatsApp. Any message requesting such information should be treated as suspicious and reported immediately.

Fresh Admit Cards Mandatory for Re-Examination

The agency has also reminded students that admit cards issued for the original NEET-UG examination conducted on May 3 are no longer valid. Since that examination was subsequently cancelled, fresh hall tickets have been released specifically for the re-test.

Candidates have been instructed to download their updated admit cards directly from the official NEET website. Officials cautioned students against using links received through forwarded messages, social media posts, or unofficial online sources, as these could lead to misinformation or security risks.

NTA Reiterates Policy on Exam Material

In its advisory, the agency once again clarified that it does not distribute question papers, answer keys, or any material claiming to provide advance access to examination content. Students have been urged to ignore any messages promoting alleged leaked papers or unauthorized study materials linked to the examination.

The authority stressed that all genuine information related to the test is published only through official channels. Any claims suggesting otherwise should be viewed with caution.

Reporting Mechanisms Available for Candidates

To strengthen examination security, the NTA has encouraged candidates to report suspicious messages, fraudulent offers, or misleading communications. Students can submit complaints through the designated reporting platform or seek assistance through the national cybercrime helpline and online cybercrime reporting system.

Officials believe that prompt reporting of such incidents will help authorities take action against those attempting to misuse the examination process and protect candidates from potential fraud.

Re-Examination Scheduled for June 21

The NEET-UG re-examination is set to take place on June 21 at examination centres located across India and several international locations. With lakhs of students expected to participate, the agency has urged candidates to remain vigilant, verify all communications carefully, and depend only on official sources for examination-related information.
