Waste Management Challenges Identified

Discussing the findings from the cleanup operation, Gupta said volunteers collected significant quantities of discarded plastic bags, religious offerings, and damaged idols from several locations. She emphasized that recurring cleanliness drives may be necessary to maintain the condition of the river and prevent the accumulation of waste.

The administration is also examining ways to improve waste management practices based on the type of material commonly found at riverfront areas. Officials are expected to explore measures that can help reduce pollution and support long-term environmental protection efforts.

The Chief Minister urged residents to play an active role in keeping the Yamuna clean and maintaining public spaces. She said community participation remains essential for the success of environmental programmes and sustainable development initiatives.
