PoliceCase – Delhi Constable Sent to Judicial Custody in Gurugram Assault Case

   PoliceCase – A Delhi Police constable has been arrested following allegations of assault, intimidation, and disorderly conduct at a residential complex in Gurugram. The accused was later presented before a court, which ordered his judicial custody after reviewing the case.

The incident, which reportedly took place at a housing society in Gurugram, gained public attention after CCTV footage surfaced online. Authorities confirmed that the accused has been remanded to judicial custody, while his request for bail has also been turned down.

Accused Identified as Delhi Police Personnel

According to police officials, the accused has been identified as 32-year-old Ronit Yadav, a resident of Indirapuram in Ghaziabad. He is employed as a constable with the Delhi Police and was assigned duties at a metro station at the time of the incident.

Investigators stated that the complaint was filed by a 25-year-old woman pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at a college in Delhi. The woman informed police that she had previously been in a relationship with Yadav but had decided to end all communication with him because of his conduct.

Alleged Attempt to Enter Residence

As per the complaint, the accused arrived at the woman’s residence in Gurugram’s Jalvayu Vihar society during the early hours of May 31. Police said the woman alleged that Yadav reached the location in a black SUV and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

The complainant claimed that when her mother declined to open the door, Yadav allegedly attempted to enter the residence forcibly. During the confrontation, he is accused of verbally abusing family members and issuing serious threats directed at the complainant’s mother and younger sister.

Woman Alleges Public Assault

The complainant further stated that she was away from the housing complex when the disturbance began and returned after receiving information from her mother. Upon her arrival, she alleged that Yadav confronted her within the society premises.

According to her statement, the accused allegedly grabbed her by the hair and struck her repeatedly in front of residents and passersby. The woman described the incident as a public assault that occurred in full view of others present at the location.

Case Registered Under Relevant Legal Provisions

Police officials confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) was registered under the applicable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following the registration of the case, Yadav was taken into custody and produced before a local court.

A senior police officer said the court ordered judicial custody for the accused. Authorities also confirmed that his bail plea was rejected. He is currently lodged at Bhondsi Jail while the investigation continues.

Previous Complaint Also Mentioned

The complainant has additionally alleged that this was not the first instance of violence. She told investigators that a similar episode had occurred last year, prompting her to approach the Sector-56 police station and file a complaint.

However, she later withdrew the earlier complaint. According to her statement, she did so after allegedly facing threats that a private video would be circulated if she continued with legal action. Police are examining all aspects of the allegations as part of the ongoing investigation.
