LandRecords – Andhra Pradesh Advances Farmer Land Ownership Verification Drive
LandRecords – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to visit West Godavari district on Monday to participate in the ongoing Mee Bhoomi – Mee Hakku initiative. During his visit to Siddantam village in the Achanta Assembly constituency, he will personally hand over updated Pattadar passbooks to farmers as part of the state’s effort to modernize and authenticate land ownership records.

Programme Focuses on Accurate Land Documentation
The Mee Bhoomi – Mee Hakku programme, introduced earlier this year, was launched to address discrepancies found in older land records. As part of the exercise, officials have undertaken a large-scale resurvey of agricultural lands while verifying ownership details submitted by farmers. Following the verification process, updated land records are being prepared and incorporated into a blockchain-based system designed to improve record security.
Before the final passbooks are issued, farmers are provided with draft copies containing their land information. They are required to review the details and complete e-KYC verification to ensure the accuracy of ownership records. This step is intended to minimize errors and prevent future disputes related to land holdings.
Transparency Measures Implemented Across Villages
Authorities have adopted several measures to maintain transparency throughout the process. Land details are publicly read out before farmers so that any inaccuracies can be identified and corrected at an early stage. Officials say this approach has helped build trust among landowners and strengthened confidence in the verification exercise.
Over the past six months, survey teams have completed resurvey operations in 6,688 villages. The exercise has benefited approximately 26.46 lakh farmers across 6,459 villages, marking significant progress in the state’s land record modernization programme.
State Targets Wider Coverage in Coming Months
The government plans to extend the survey and verification process to an additional 10,357 villages over the next nine months. As part of this expansion, authorities aim to distribute around 67.32 lakh updated Pattadar passbooks to eligible landowners.
Andhra Pradesh has become the first state in the country to introduce a blockchain-based land records framework. Under this system, every land parcel receives a permanent digital identification number, helping safeguard ownership information and reducing the possibility of unauthorized alterations.
Chief Minister’s Schedule in West Godavari
According to the official itinerary, the Chief Minister will leave Amaravati at 10:25 a.m. and reach Siddantam at approximately 11:00 a.m. He is expected to address a public gathering under the Mee Bhoomi – Mee Hakku programme at 11:15 a.m., where he will outline the government’s efforts to strengthen land administration and farmer welfare.
Later in the day, he will hold direct interactions with farmers beginning at 2:30 p.m. The visit will also include a review meeting with Telugu Desam Party leaders and local cadre at 3:15 p.m. He is scheduled to return to Amaravati by 5:35 p.m.
Emphasis on Farmer Confidence and Land Security
State officials have emphasized that the new digital framework is intended to provide long-term protection for land ownership records. By combining updated surveys with blockchain technology, the administration aims to improve accuracy, strengthen transparency, and ensure greater security for farmers’ properties.
The Chief Minister’s engagement with farmers during the visit is expected to reinforce confidence in the resurvey process while highlighting the government’s commitment to safeguarding land rights and maintaining reliable ownership records across Andhra Pradesh.
