Heritage Tour – After nearly four decades away from their homeland, members of the Kashmiri Pandit community from across the world are set to gather in the Valley for a major cultural and heritage event aimed at strengthening ties with their ancestral roots.

Heritage tour kashmiri pandit conclave 2026

The first Global Kashmiri Heritage Tour and Conclave 2026 will take place in Kashmir between June 6 and June 14. The main conclave sessions are scheduled for June 13 and 14 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre. Organisers have described the programme as a landmark effort to reconnect displaced Kashmiri Pandits with their cultural identity and homeland after decades of separation.

Focus on Cultural Reconnection

The conclave will be organised under the theme “From Exile to Excellence – Kashmiri Pandit Journey of Resilience, Renaissance and Return.” According to the organising committee, the event is intended to bring together different generations of Kashmiri Pandits and help them reconnect with their traditions, heritage sites, and shared history.

A major feature of the programme will be a specially designed heritage tour across different parts of Kashmir. Delegates from India and several overseas countries will visit temples, historic locations, and cultural landmarks linked to the Kashmiri Pandit community.

Organisers said the tour is meant to serve not only as a travel experience but also as a meaningful journey focused on remembrance, cultural revival, and rebuilding emotional connections with the Valley.

Broad Participation Expected

The initiative is being jointly organised by seven major community groups, including the Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora, Jammu & Kashmir Vichar Manch, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj, and several other associations based in India and abroad. More than 30 supporting organisations from different regions are also expected to participate in the programme.

Delegates attending the conclave are expected to include scholars, business leaders, artists, policymakers, youth representatives, and members of civil society. Discussions during the event will focus on subjects such as cultural preservation, community development, political participation, social harmony, and future opportunities for younger generations.

Heritage Panels and Cultural Sessions

The conclave agenda will include academic discussions, interactive youth sessions, cultural performances, heritage conservation panels, and round-table meetings. Special resolution sessions are also planned to discuss long-term goals and future planning for the Kashmiri Pandit community.

Organisers stated that several prominent personalities from the global Kashmiri diaspora, including entrepreneurs, researchers, artists, and public figures, are expected to join the gathering.

Dr. Surinder Kaul, speaking on behalf of the organising committee, said the conclave aims to provide a platform for dialogue, cooperation, and cultural rebuilding while honouring the resilience shown by the community over the years.

He noted that the event represents a collective effort to strengthen cultural identity, preserve heritage, and encourage a future based on inclusion, dignity, and shared aspirations. He also described the heritage tour as a symbol of hope and renewal for displaced families seeking to reconnect with their roots.

Invitations Extended to National Leaders

Participants are expected to arrive from India, the United States, Europe, West Asia, and several other regions, making the event one of the largest international gatherings centred on Kashmiri Pandit heritage and cultural legacy.

The organising committee has sent invitations to Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Manoj Sinha, and Omar Abdullah.

Invitations have also been extended to leaders from political parties in Jammu and Kashmir, along with representatives from Kashmiri Muslim and Sikh communities, as well as members of the POJK and Valmiki communities. Organisers said the aim is to encourage broader participation and inclusive dialogue during the conclave.
