Entertainment – Rithvik Dhanjani Opens Up About Staying Away From Television Dramas
Entertainment – Actor and television host Rithvik Dhanjani has spoken candidly about why he has not returned to mainstream fiction television despite remaining active in the entertainment industry through digital projects and reality shows.

Known widely for portraying Arjun Kirloskar in the popular television drama Pavitra Rishta, Rithvik said the show remains one of the most memorable milestones of his professional journey. However, the actor explained that he has deliberately avoided signing new television fiction projects because the stories offered to him in recent years failed to leave a lasting emotional impact.
Actor Reflects on His Television Journey
During a recent interaction, Rithvik admitted that he still misses the atmosphere of working on fiction sets and the experience of daily television shoots. Even so, he believes that choosing the right script is more important than returning to television simply for visibility.
According to the actor, the projects that came his way did not inspire him creatively or emotionally. He indicated that he is waiting for a story capable of challenging him as a performer and offering something meaningful to audiences.
Rithvik’s portrayal in Pavitra Rishta earned him widespread recognition and helped establish him as a familiar face in Indian households. The series became one of the defining shows of its time and contributed significantly to his rise in the television industry.
Shift Towards Digital Entertainment Platforms
Over the last few years, the actor has focused on exploring opportunities beyond traditional television. He revealed that he has been intentionally experimenting with different storytelling formats, including web series and international projects, to expand his creative range.
Among the projects he mentioned were the crime drama Cartel, the romantic series Half Love Half Arranged, and a smaller film project associated with Amazon Singapore. Through these ventures, Rithvik said he has been attempting to move away from predictable roles and discover fresh avenues as an actor.
The actor also acknowledged that reinvention in the entertainment world requires patience. Rather than rushing into projects, he prefers allowing his career to evolve naturally over time. He suggested that meaningful transitions often happen gradually and cannot be forced.
Legacy of Pavitra Rishta Still Remains Strong
Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Pavitra Rishta remains one of Indian television’s most successful family dramas. The series featured a notable cast including Ankita Lokhande, Sushant Singh Rajput, Usha Nadkarni, and Savita Prabhune.
Rithvik joined the show in 2011 opposite actress Asha Negi and quickly gained popularity for his on-screen chemistry and performance. His role as businessman Arjun Kirloskar became one of the memorable characters from the long-running serial.
Even years after the show ended, Pavitra Rishta continues to hold emotional value for viewers who followed the drama closely during its television run.
Reality Television Return on the Horizon
While fans may still be waiting to see him in a new fiction drama, Rithvik is preparing for another major television appearance. The actor is expected to participate in the upcoming season of the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi season 15.
The reality series is known for featuring celebrities performing physically demanding challenges and adventurous tasks. Rithvik’s participation has already generated curiosity among viewers who have followed his career since his television debut.
With digital entertainment expanding rapidly and audiences increasingly consuming content across multiple platforms, actors like Rithvik Dhanjani continue to adapt by exploring varied formats while waiting for roles that align with their creative ambitions.
