Arrest Conducted With Assistance of Multiple Police Units

According to senior police officials, the arrest operation was carried out jointly by teams from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police and the local crime branch. Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik stated that Khan was wanted in connection with a case registered at the Deolali Camp police station.

The arrest is linked to an ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry examining multiple complaints filed by women employees associated with the IT company’s Nashik office. Investigators are currently probing nine separate cases related to allegations of harassment and workplace misconduct.

SIT Investigating Multiple Allegations

Police officials said that several individuals have already been arrested in the case, including a woman serving in an operations management role. The complaints include accusations related to molestation, emotional harassment, insulting religious beliefs, and alleged attempts to pressure employees into adopting certain religious practices.

Investigators claim that the accused individuals allegedly created an environment where some female employees felt intimidated or emotionally pressured. Authorities said the SIT had been tracking Khan across different locations in Maharashtra before finally locating her in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Claims of Religious Pressure Under Examination

As per details mentioned in the police complaint, Khan allegedly used social media communication groups to influence employees regarding food habits, prayer routines, and dress choices. Officials said some complainants alleged they were encouraged to follow customs associated with Islamic traditions, including specific forms of attire and dietary practices.

Several women who approached the police also claimed they faced pressure to participate in religious activities and make personal lifestyle changes. Investigators are reviewing statements and digital communication records as part of the inquiry.

Charges Filed Under Multiple Legal Provisions

Police have booked the accused under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to sexual harassment and defamation. In addition, provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act have also been invoked in the case. Officials stated that one complainant belongs to a Scheduled Caste community and alleged that religious pressure continued despite awareness of her social background.

The case has attracted attention due to the serious nature of the allegations and the involvement of employees working at a major technology company. Authorities have maintained that the investigation is being handled carefully and that all complaints are being examined individually.

Court Earlier Rejected Anticipatory Bail Plea

Earlier this year, Khan had approached a Nashik court seeking anticipatory bail along with interim protection from arrest. In her plea, she reportedly cited her pregnancy while requesting relief from immediate detention. However, the court rejected her anticipatory bail application on May 2, clearing the way for police action.

The SIT is expected to continue questioning the accused and reviewing evidence connected to the case in the coming days. Officials have indicated that further legal action may follow depending on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
