RoadAccident – Four Killed After Car Crashes Into Stationary Lorry on Highway
RoadAccident – A late-night road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district claimed four lives and left one person critically injured after a car collided with a parked lorry on a national highway. The incident occurred around midnight near Pusapatirega, drawing immediate response from local police and emergency teams.

Collision With Parked Vehicle Turns Fatal
According to initial reports, the car was travelling at high speed when it struck the rear of a stationary lorry. The force of the impact proved devastating, leading to the immediate death of four occupants. One survivor suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
Police personnel reached the accident site shortly after receiving information and began rescue operations. The damaged vehicle had to be carefully accessed to retrieve those trapped inside. Early findings suggest that overspeeding may have been a key factor contributing to the crash.
Investigation Underway
Authorities have initiated a detailed investigation to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the accident. While speeding has been identified as a probable cause, officials are also examining other possible factors, including road conditions and visibility at the time of the incident.
Further updates are expected as investigators gather more evidence and statements from witnesses, if any.
Separate Incident Claims Three Lives in East Godavari
In another tragic accident reported earlier, three people lost their lives and one individual sustained serious injuries after a car crashed into a roadside signboard in East Godavari district. The incident occurred near Ananthapalli in Nallajerla mandal, close to the Veeravalli Toll Plaza.
The injured person was immediately transported to a nearby hospital with the assistance of highway ambulance services and local police. Medical officials have described the condition of the survivor as critical.
Victims Identified, Journey Ends in Tragedy
Police identified the deceased as residents of Gajjaram village in Tallapudi mandal. The group, consisting of four individuals, had been travelling together when the accident took place. They were reportedly returning home after taking one of their companions, who had a physical disability, to Chennai for medical treatment.
Officials stated that the vehicle collided with a caution signboard placed approximately 500 meters before the toll plaza. The impact was severe, leaving the car completely wrecked and causing fatal injuries to three occupants on the spot.
Overspeeding Suspected in Both Cases
Preliminary investigations in both incidents point toward excessive speed as a likely cause. Law enforcement authorities have reiterated the importance of adhering to speed limits, particularly on highways where high-speed driving combined with unexpected obstacles can result in serious accidents.
In the East Godavari case, the injured individual, identified as Narendra, is currently receiving treatment in hospital. Doctors have indicated that his condition remains critical.
Legal Procedures and Postmortem Examination
Police have registered cases in both incidents and are proceeding with standard legal formalities. The bodies of the deceased from the East Godavari accident have been shifted to Gopalapuram Government Hospital for postmortem examination.
Authorities continue to urge motorists to exercise caution, especially during night travel, and to remain vigilant about road signs and stationary vehicles.
