WomenReservation – The proposed legislation to reserve one-third of seats for women in legislative bodies has drawn strong support from leaders across states, who view it as a meaningful step toward improving gender balance in Indian politics. Gujarat minister Darshana Vaghela on Wednesday welcomed the move, describing it as a positive effort to encourage greater involvement of women in decision-making roles.

Support from Gujarat Leadership

Speaking about the development, Vaghela expressed appreciation for the initiative and acknowledged the leadership behind it. She said the bill could significantly enhance women’s representation and create new opportunities for participation in governance. According to her, increased inclusion of women in politics often leads to more effective and socially responsive policymaking.

According to her, this earlier initiative demonstrated how reservation policies can bring more women into leadership positions, and she believes the proposed national-level bill could extend similar benefits to state assemblies and Parliament.

Response from Haryana

Haryana minister Shruti Choudhary also welcomed the announcement, describing it as a significant and memorable moment. She said the development has been received with enthusiasm, comparing the atmosphere to a celebratory occasion.

Choudhary credited strong leadership for making such a proposal possible and emphasized that the move reflects a clear commitment to advancing women’s role in governance. She added that the occasion would be marked through public outreach activities, including padyatras and local events aimed at engaging citizens and spreading awareness.
