The document, stretching over 800 pages, names three individuals allegedly linked to the incident, which took place in February when the victim fell into an uncovered pit on a city road.
Investigation Expands Beyond Initial Arrests
Officials confirmed that the chargesheet runs into 877 pages and has been formally presented before the court. According to senior police officials, the investigation is still ongoing, with authorities examining the possible involvement of additional individuals. A supplementary chargesheet is expected to follow once further findings are compiled.
The three accused include a senior figure associated with the contracting company, a sub-contractor responsible for execution at the site, and a worker deployed at the location. Police carried out arrests in phases, beginning with the sub-contractor, followed by the worker, and later detaining the contractor from Rajasthan.

According to the statement, the witness alerted a guard stationed nearby after noticing the incident. This information was then relayed to a worker present at the site. Upon inspecting the pit, the worker reportedly observed the motorcycle’s headlight still illuminated, indicating recent activity, though visibility was limited due to darkness.
Call records indicate that the worker contacted his employer shortly after midnight. The employer reached the site within a short time frame. However, police allege that despite being aware of the situation, neither the worker nor the employer informed emergency services or authorities immediately.
Delay in Reporting Raises Questions
The incident came to official attention only the following morning when a call was made reporting that a man had fallen into a deep pit. By the time authorities arrived, the victim had already succumbed to injuries.
The deceased, identified as a resident of the Palam area and employed in the banking sector, had reportedly been riding through the Janakpuri locality when the accident occurred. The pit, approximately 15 feet deep, had been dug as part of ongoing infrastructure work.
Police officials have indicated that the delay in reporting the incident is a significant aspect of the case and may have impacted the chances of timely rescue.
