Festival – Chief Minister Dhami Extends Wishes on Hindu New Year

Festival –  Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday conveyed his warm wishes to residents on the occasion of the Hindu New Year, Vikram Samvat 2083. In his message, he expressed hope that the coming year would bring prosperity, good health, and renewed enthusiasm to people across the state.

Message of hope for the new year

Sharing his thoughts through a social media post, the Chief Minister greeted citizens and prayed for their well-being. He said the new year should mark a fresh beginning filled with happiness and positive energy. He also expressed confidence that the state would continue to progress, with improvements in development and overall quality of life for its residents.

Dhami added that he hoped the new year would open doors to new opportunities and strengthen the foundation of growth and prosperity in Uttarakhand. He extended his wishes to every family, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective progress.

Greetings on the beginning of Chaitra Navratri

Alongside New Year wishes, the Chief Minister also marked the start of Chaitra Navratri, a nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga. On the first day, he paid tribute to Goddess Shailputri, the first form of the goddess worshipped during the festival.

In his message, Dhami highlighted the spiritual significance of the day and extended his greetings to the people of the state. He expressed hope that the blessings of Goddess Shailputri would bring strength, patience, and happiness into the lives of devotees. He also prayed for continued prosperity and peace for all.

Devotees gather at temples across cities

The beginning of Chaitra Navratri saw a large number of devotees visiting prominent temples in several cities. In Delhi, worshippers assembled at well-known temples such as Jhandewalan and Chhatarpur to offer prayers and seek blessings. Similarly, in Mumbai, devotees thronged the Mumba Devi temple to mark the auspicious occasion.

Temples witnessed vibrant scenes as people participated in rituals and offered prayers early in the day. The sound of bells and devotional songs filled the surroundings as priests performed aarti, formally marking the start of the festival.

Festive spirit marks the start of nine-day celebration

Chaitra Navratri, which spans nine days, is one of the most important festivals dedicated to Goddess Durga. Each day is associated with a different form of the goddess, and devotees observe fasts, perform rituals, and participate in prayers during this period.

The atmosphere across temples and households reflected devotion and celebration, with many people beginning the festival with traditional practices and spiritual observances. The occasion also brought communities together, reinforcing cultural and religious values.

Leaders extend festive wishes

Public figures also joined in extending greetings on the occasion. BJP Member of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj conveyed her wishes, expressing hope that the blessings of the goddess would bring prosperity and well-being to people across the country.

As the Hindu New Year and Navratri commence together, the celebrations have set a positive tone, with prayers and hopes for a year filled with progress, peace, and happiness.
