Telangana – Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday said that the state government is placing strong emphasis on the welfare, development, and empowerment of the Muslim community. Speaking during an official Dawat-e-Iftar gathering at LB Stadium in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister also warned that certain political groups are attempting to create divisions among religious communities for their own interests.

Telangana revanth reddy iftar unity message

The event, hosted by the Telangana government as part of Ramzan celebrations, was attended by several prominent leaders, including state minister Mohammad Azharuddin and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi. Hundreds of people gathered at the venue to take part in the traditional Iftar meal after a day of fasting.

Government Iftar Event Marks Ramzan Observance

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister described Ramzan as a sacred period dedicated to spiritual reflection, prayer, and compassion. He said the government was pleased to organize an Iftar event for members of the Muslim community observing the holy month.

Reddy noted that during Ramzan, Muslims engage in regular prayers, acts of charity, and recitation of the Quran, which he described as practices that encourage moral discipline and spiritual growth. He also acknowledged the prayers offered by the community for peace and well-being across the country and the world.

According to him, such occasions strengthen the values of unity and collective responsibility within society.

Call for Religious Harmony and Social Unity

The Chief Minister used the occasion to underline the importance of maintaining harmony among people belonging to different faiths. He stressed that social progress and national development can only be achieved when communities work together in mutual respect.

Reddy cautioned that certain elements are trying to provoke religious tensions by spreading divisions. He urged citizens not to allow such attempts to weaken social harmony.

He said that India’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths and that maintaining peace among different communities is essential for the country’s stability and growth. Encouraging people to remain united, he said that cooperation across religions will help Telangana continue its development journey.

Representation of Minority Leaders in Government

During his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted the representation of minority leaders within the current administration. He pointed out that former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin now serves as a minister in the state cabinet, describing it as a reflection of the opportunities being created for leaders from diverse backgrounds.

Senior political leader Shabbir Ali has also been appointed as a government adviser, while several other minority leaders have been given positions in various state corporations.

Reddy recalled that Azharuddin once played cricket matches at the same LB Stadium where the Iftar gathering was held. He remarked that the stadium now hosts Azharuddin as a minister, illustrating the journey from sports to public service.

Recognition for Sporting Achievements

The Chief Minister also spoke about the state government’s support for talented individuals from minority communities, especially in sports. He mentioned that Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj was appointed to a Deputy Superintendent of Police position in recognition of his achievements in international cricket.

Similarly, world boxing champion Nikhat Zareen received a cash reward of Rs 2 crore and was also offered a DSP position by the state government.

Reddy said these recognitions reflect the government’s commitment to encouraging talent and rewarding excellence regardless of background.

Education and Welfare Support for Minority Students

In addition to sports recognition, the government has also expanded educational support for minority students. According to the Chief Minister, integrated residential hostels and other initiatives are being strengthened to help students pursue higher education and build successful careers.

He said these programs aim to provide equal opportunities for young people from minority communities so they can contribute to the state’s development.

Commitment to Telangana’s Growth

Concluding his address, Reddy said the government intends to work closely with all communities to ensure inclusive growth in Telangana. He described the administration as one that belongs to all citizens and emphasized that cooperation between the government and the public will play a crucial role in the state’s progress.

The Chief Minister also called on people to support the government’s efforts to develop Telangana further and strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a leading city in the country.

He said that by maintaining unity and focusing on development, the state can continue moving toward its goal of becoming one of the most advanced regions in India.
