KumbhMela2027 – The Uttarakhand government has received a financial boost of Rs 500 crore from the Centre to support preparations for the Kumbh Mela 2027 in Haridwar. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union government, describing the assistance as a significant step toward ensuring a smooth and well-organised event.

According to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, the funds will be directed toward strengthening civic amenities and expanding key infrastructure in and around Haridwar ahead of the religious gathering.

Funds to Strengthen Core Infrastructure

Officials said the allocation will be used to upgrade roads, improve traffic management systems, and enhance public transport arrangements to manage the anticipated surge in visitors. Authorities are also focusing on expanding drinking water supply networks and reinforcing sanitation facilities to maintain hygiene standards during the fair.

Security arrangements are expected to receive a substantial share of the funding. The state government plans to deploy modern surveillance systems, strengthen crowd management protocols, and coordinate closely with central agencies to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
