BombThreat – Gujarat Schools Evacuated After Anonymous Email Alerts
BombThreat – On Monday morning, authorities in Gujarat launched a large-scale security response after multiple schools in Ahmedabad and Vadodara received bomb threat emails, prompting precautionary evacuations and thorough inspections across campuses.

Emergency Response Across Two Major Cities
Officials confirmed that at least 28 educational institutions were targeted by anonymous emails warning of explosives on their premises. More than 15 schools in Ahmedabad alone reported receiving the threatening messages, according to District Education Officer Rohit Chaudhary. School administrators were immediately directed to alert nearby police stations and implement established safety protocols to protect students and staff.
In Vadodara, Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar stated that 13 schools located in different parts of the city were similarly affected. Once the control room was notified, law enforcement agencies quickly mobilized teams to secure the premises and prevent panic.
Security Sweeps and Evacuations Conducted
Police units, along with the Special Operations Group, Crime Branch officials, and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads, carried out detailed sanitisation drives at each reported location. Students and teachers were safely evacuated while security personnel searched classrooms, playgrounds, and administrative buildings.
Authorities reported that inspections at nine schools in Vadodara had been completed by the afternoon, with checks at the remaining institutions continuing. So far, no suspicious materials or devices have been discovered.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Verma confirmed that all students from the affected schools were sent home as a precautionary measure. Officials emphasized that the safety of children and school staff remains the top priority.
Cybercrime Case Registered
A formal case has been filed by the cybercrime division to trace the origin of the emails. Investigators are now working to identify the sender and determine whether the threats were coordinated. Commissioner Komar noted that while the initial assessment suggests the emails may have been sent with mischievous intent, the matter is being treated with full seriousness.
Digital forensic teams are examining email headers, server data, and other technical details to track the source. Police have assured parents and school authorities that every angle will be examined thoroughly to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Schools Targeted in the Incident
Among the institutions that received threat messages were DAV International School, Asia School, Ankur International School, and Sant Kabir School in Ahmedabad.
In Vadodara, the affected schools included D R Amin School, Urmi School, Baroda High School, and Don Bosco, among others, as confirmed by police sources.
Officials refrained from disclosing further operational details to avoid compromising the investigation.
Similar Incident Reported Earlier
This is not the first time schools in Ahmedabad have faced such disruptions. On January 23, several institutions in the city received comparable bomb threat emails, which were later determined to be a hoax after comprehensive searches found nothing dangerous.
Monday’s episode once again caused concern among parents and educators, though authorities reiterated that there is currently no evidence of an actual explosive threat. Police presence around affected campuses was increased temporarily to reassure families and maintain order.
As investigations continue, officials have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information. Law enforcement agencies have also appealed to citizens to report any suspicious digital activity that may assist in identifying those responsible.
