IndianAirForce –The Indian Air Force (IAF) extended comprehensive logistical and technical assistance to a visiting Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) contingent during a scheduled transit stop at Air Force Station Jamnagar in Gujarat. The visiting formation included nine T-50B aircraft from South Korea’s renowned Black Eagles Aerobatic Team, along with a C-130 transport aircraft, as part of their journey to Saudi Arabia.

The support was coordinated by the South Western Air Command (SWAC), which confirmed that the stopover took place between January 31 and February 1, 2026. The halt was planned as the South Korean team traveled onward to participate in the upcoming World Defence Show 2026.

Operational and Logistical Assistance at Jamnagar

According to official details shared by SWAC, the IAF ensured seamless handling of all operational requirements during the contingent’s stay. This included assistance with aircraft landing, ground handling, and access to technical facilities necessary for inspection and maintenance. In addition, the Indian authorities facilitated customs and immigration procedures to ensure the smooth transit of personnel and equipment.

Such coordinated support reflects standard international military aviation cooperation, where host air forces assist visiting contingents to maintain safety, efficiency, and operational readiness during long-distance deployments.

Statement from South Western Air Command

The South Western Air Command acknowledged the cooperation through an official post on X, stating that the IAF had provided full support to the Republic of Korea Air Force team during their brief stay in India. The post also extended best wishes to the Black Eagles team for safe flying and successful participation in their upcoming international engagement.

The message highlighted the professionalism of both air forces and underscored India’s role as a reliable partner in facilitating international military movements through its airspace and bases.

Black Eagles En Route to Global Defence Event

The Black Eagles Aerobatic Team is the official aerobatics display unit of the Republic of Korea Air Force and operates the T-50B advanced jet trainer. The team is internationally known for its precision flying and is a regular participant in air shows and defence exhibitions across the world.

Their participation in the World Defence Show 2026 is expected to be part of a broader showcase of aerial capabilities and international defence collaboration, alongside static displays, live demonstrations, and technology exhibitions.

The World Defence Show 2026 is scheduled to take place from February 8 to February 12 in Saudi Arabia. Now in its third edition, the event is organised under the Royal Patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The exhibition is founded by Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI).

The event will be inaugurated by Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s Defence Minister and Vice Chairman of GAMI’s Board of Directors. The theme of the show focuses on the future of defence integration, highlighting advanced technologies and cross-domain cooperation from land, sea, air, space, and security sectors.

Growing Scale and Global Participation

The World Defence Show has rapidly established itself as a significant platform for the global defence industry. During its 2024 edition, the event hosted 773 exhibitors and welcomed 441 official delegations representing 116 countries. Attendance figures included more than 106,000 trade visitors, reflecting strong international interest.

The exhibition also facilitated defence deals valued at approximately 26 billion Saudi Riyals, underlining its importance as a venue for strategic partnerships, technology exchange, and commercial agreements. Organisers have indicated that the 2026 edition will feature expanded networking opportunities, enhanced show elements, and large-scale live demonstrations.

The smooth handling of the South Korean contingent at Jamnagar highlights India’s growing role in supporting international defence engagements and military mobility.
