Mumbai: A friend’s father molested a 13-year-old girl at a birthday celebration in Bhandup; Arrest of the Accused

Mumbai: Bhandup neighborhood, a startling case of molestation involving a 13-year-old girl has surfaced. The girl’s close friend’s father reportedly insulted her modesty at a birthday party. The 46-year-old suspect has been taken into custody by the Bhandup Police and charged with molestation under the applicable sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. A special POCSO court has remanded him to police detention.

The complainant, a 43-year-old lady, lives with her family in the Mulund district, according to the police. Her 13-year-old daughter, who is also the accused’s daughter’s close friend, is the victim. The girl had traveled to a hotel in Nahur on January 12 with her family to attend the friend’s birthday celebration.

The accused reportedly groped the girl and made lewd advances toward her at approximately 10.30 p.m. He is charged with trying to get near to her physically and making unwanted personal contact with her on her chest.

The child told her mother about the event when she got home, and she was astonished. The accused allegedly got into a fight with the complainant and verbally insulted her when she challenged him.

The complainant went to the Bhandup authorities Station after the event and told the authorities what had happened. The police filed a case against the accused under the POCSO Act’s molestation and other provisions in response to her allegation. On Tuesday, the accused was taken into prison by the police after appearing before a special POCSO court.

Locals are furious over the event, which included a youngster being abused by her friend’s father.
