The 15th Madhya Pradesh Battalion NCC at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agriculture University in Gwalior extended a cordial welcome to the 20-member delegation, which was headed by Brigadier Sachin Gawali, Group Commander of Amravati Group.

In order to encourage discipline, nationalism, physical fitness, and social responsibility, the NCC squad that retraces Peshwa Bajirao I’s itinerary spoke with Army officials, NCC teams, and young people in the area about the reason for their arduous trek from Pune to New Delhi.

On December 24, a ceremony marked the start of the expedition, which is a component of the ‘NCC PM Rally -2026’ cycling campaign, from Delhi Darwaza of Shaniwarwada in Pune.

Peshwa Bajirao I, a great Maratha warrior who conducted a historic military campaign from Pune to Delhi, served as the inspiration for the expedition. This program aims to remember our wonderful past in addition to being a physical exercise. Peshwa Bajirao I used this path to go to Delhi and blew the horn for freedom during the revolt. As he arrived in Gwalior on Friday, Junior Under Officer Rohan told IANS, “It reinforces India’s unity in diversity by teaching us about national unity, physical fitness, road safety, and civic responsibility.”

Because so few cadets had the chance to participate in this cycling campaign, Rohan expressed his pride in doing so.We were given three months prior to the campaign being marked off. This bicycle campaign’s leader, Brigadier Sachin Gawali, urged us to realize its mission,” he said.

The renowned Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao I, who oversaw a major military journey from Pune to Delhi, serves as the inspiration for the mission. NCC cadets are jogging across five states, along a same path through Bundelkhand and Malwa.

In 21 days, the expedition will travel 1,680 kilometers to raise awareness of this fabled warrior.

On January 16, 2026, the cycling team will arrive in Delhi to take part in the Prime Minister Rally after passing through five states: Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
