Trump : claims that the crackdown in Venezuela will cause Cuba to collapse

Trump: President Donald Trump warned that Cuba has few alternatives and that the island is experiencing a serious economic crisis as a result of US intervention in Venezuela cutting off financial and energy assistance that Havana has been dependent on for years.

In a sit-down interview on Fox News’ Hannity, Trump said, “Cuba completely depends on Venezuela for money and for oil.” “That is no longer effective.”

According to him, Venezuela and Cuba had a long-standing agreement wherein Havana offered security assistance in return for money and oil.

Trump said, “That was always the deal.” “Venezuela provides Cuba with money through oil, and Cuba provides protection to Venezuela.”

Trump said that because of the US effort in Venezuela, the friendship is now over. He said, “I don’t know what Cuba is going to do.” “I believe Cuba will fail.”

According to Trump, recent events have resulted in the defeat of Cuban troops operating in Venezuela. He said, “They got wiped out.” “I’d rather not even mention the number.”

“There is no obvious alternative source of support for Cuba,” he remarked. Trump said, “I don’t think there are any alternatives to Cuba.”

Concurrently, Trump declared his desire to support Cubans, especially Cuban Americans residing in the United States.

Trump said, “Cuban, we have some of the best people in the country.” “I wish to assist those individuals.”

Trump brought up the number of Cubans who had left the country in previous decades. He said, “They departed on rafts.” “They departed on damaged vessels, in waters rife with sharks.”

Trump went on to say, “Many, many of them didn’t make it.”

He claimed that previous authorities had mistreated Cuban Americans. “Castro treated them so badly,” Trump said.

Trump said that the US wants to see good change in Havana but did not specify a particular US approach. He said, “We want to do something to help Cuba.” “We’ll see what occurs.”
