Thirteen Chinese PLA aircraft flights and seven PLAN navy boats were seen operating near Taiwan till six in the morning (local time), according to a post on X by Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND).

Twelve of the thirteen aircraft, according to the ministry, entered Taiwan’s northern and southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) after crossing the Taiwan Strait’s middle line.

Up to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today, 13 PLA aircraft sorties and 7 PLAN boats were seen operating in the Taiwan area. Twelve of the thirteen sorties entered Taiwan’s northern and southwestern ADIZ after crossing the median line. The ministry said, “We have kept an eye on the issue and taken appropriate action.

The MND said that early on Saturday morning, China launched satellites.

“China launched satellites from #XSLC today at 00:07 (UTC+8), with the flight path passing over central Taiwan and heading into the Western Pacific. There is no danger since the height is above the atmosphere. The article further said that #ROCArmedForces kept an eye on the procedure and were prepared to react.

The most recent action comes after comparable motions were observed the day before. Taiwan’s defense ministry said Friday that at 6 a.m., it had seen two Chinese military aircraft, six Chinese navy ships, and two Chinese balloons flying over the island.

Up to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today, two PLA aircraft flights and six PLAN boats were seen around Taiwan. During this period, two PRC balloons were found. In a previous tweet, the ministry stated, “#ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and responded.”

China often conducts patrols and military exercises in the area of Taiwan, which it claims as its own. Taiwan, which has its own government, has often accused Beijing of intimidating the island with military pressure.

According to the Taipei Times, the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) accused China of “transnational suppression and political manipulation” following a Chinese public security agency’s allegation that Taiwanese nationals were behind a smuggling scheme involving a Chinese-crewed vessel that damaged undersea cables earlier this year.

Concerns were raised when a Taiwanese court found the Chinese captain of the Togo-registered ship Hong Tai 58 guilty of purposefully breaking subsea cables off Taiwan in February and sentenced him to three years in jail in June.

Two Taiwanese people planned a multi-vessel operation that was illegally bringing frozen commodities into China, according to the public security office in Weihai, China’s Shandong Province. According to Taipei Times, these conclusions from Chinese officials came after seven Hong Tai 58 crew members were interviewed.

In a statement, the MAC rejected the Chinese conclusions.
