“Growing up, I can’t even remember how many times I watched Border on television,” she said, revealing that the “J. P. Dutta” film carries countless priceless childhood memories for her. It’s one of my favorite movies and brings back a lot of my early years. To be a part of a movie like this makes me feel really fortunate and thankful.

Sonam went on to discuss how she was able to join “Border 2”.

She said that she was recruited for the drama by director Anurag Singh, with whom she had previously collaborated on the 2017 film “Super Singh.”

Sonam also said that Diljit is another similarity between these two films.

“I was contacted by director Anurag Singh for Border 2, and we already have a strong working rapport since we had previously worked together. Sonam said, “It’s interesting that Diljit starred in both of those movies, so our association in Punjab has been quite special.”

The ‘Housefull 5’ actress shared details about her character Manjeet in “Border 2”: “I play a Punjabi lady called Manjeet in Border 2, who is from Ambala and married to Diljit Dosanjh’s character, Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon. It meant a lot to me when Anurag informed me that I was the first person he thought of for Manjeet. I was thrilled because, as soon as I learned that Border 2 was being developed, it became my ideal project.

Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, and Medha Rana play key parts in the movie, which is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in collaboration with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films and supported by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta.

On January 23, 2026, over the Republic Day weekend, “Border 2” will be released in theaters.
