Air Pollution in Delhi-NCR: The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram has advised all workplaces to adopt a work-from-home (WFH) scheme, instructing them to function at 50% strength with the remaining personnel working from home, in response to the deteriorating air quality that Delhi-NCR residents continue to experience. In order to reduce traffic during peak hours, the administration also staggered the hours of all government and local offices.

This action, which takes effect on Monday, December 22, comes after the Delhi-NCR region’s Commission of Air Quality Management (CAQM) invoked Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
The X post said, “Therefore, all private institutions and corporate offices in District Gurugram are advised to encourage employees to work from home w.e.f. 22.12.2025 until further orders.”
Work From Home Advice for Offices in Gurugram DC
Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar ordered all private offices to adopt a work-from-home approach in a Sunday advice. Until the air quality significantly improves, the Gurugram DC also ordered firms to operate at 50% capacity, with the remaining employees working from home.
Office Timings Are Staggered in Gurugram DC
To alleviate traffic and alleviate peak-hour congestion, Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar proposed a change in the hours of all public offices, including state government ministries and municipal organizations, in response to the region’s worsening air quality.
According to the advice, these dates will be in force throughout Stage-IV of GRAP and will take effect today, December 22, 2025.

At 8 AM on Monday, December 22, the AQI in the nation’s capital was 366.
