Nightclub Fire in Goa
On the intervening night of December 6-7, a huge fire at the nightclub “Birch by Romeo Lane” claimed 25 lives. Massive flames and smoke plumes enveloping the arena were seen on camera.

According to NDTV, a dancer is seen dancing to the tunes of the well-known Bollywood song “Mehbooba Mehbooba” from the movie Sholay as the first flames erupt on the roof, signaling the beginning of the fire that killed 25 people, including 20 employees and five visitors.

When they left their hotel to have a dinner in Thailand, officials were able to locate and apprehend them, ending their escape. Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra’s passports were seized by the Indian government, and Interpol issued a Blue Notice on them.

After being deported from Thailand, they are now being sent back to India for further examination. The Luthra brothers were accused under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 125(a) and (b) (endangering life and personal safety), and 287 (negligent conduct with fire or combustible stuff) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in a FIR filed last Sunday.
