Sumona Chakravarti: a “bibliophile,” considers grief, recovery, and peaceful solace
Sumona Chakravarti: As she considered loss, healing, and the calm solace that comes from familiar feelings, actress Sumona Chakravarti spoke candidly about the kinds of tales that endure long after the last page has been turned.

The actress shared her opinions on a recent book, pointing out that certain stories don’t show their full depth right away but instead gradually come to you, bringing you joy, reminiscence, and serenity once everything comes together.
Sumona posted her emotional analysis of Dolly Alderton’s book Good Material on Instagram. She said that while the book didn’t initially captivate her, everything came into place in the last 50 to 60 pages.
“#GoodMaterial by Dolly Alderton really turned out to be good material,” she wrote. At first, it didn’t catch my attention, but eventually, particularly in the last 50–60 pages, everything made sense. The sections that had before seemed a little sluggish now made sense.
“Pick this up if you’ve ever had your heart broken,” the actress said. You’ll chuckle. You’ll experience nostalgia. There will be a lot of resonance. A reminiscence of bittersweet times may come to mind. You could be smiling while crying. You’ll laugh unrestrainedly if you’ve recovered. It provides a mild third-person viewpoint if you haven’t before. Kind, humorous, and subtly reassuring.
This year, it’s been a terrific idea to alternate between watching an OTT program and reading a book. Win-Win #bibliophile #bookworm
Sumona is well recognized for her parts in Comedy Nights with Kapil, The Kapil Sharma Show, and the daily soap opera Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. She competed in the stunt-based competition Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 in 2024 and finished seventh.
