Kolkata Airport Metro Link: Starting today, December 15, the Kolkata Metro will launch a direct train service via Noapara between Jai Hind Bimanbandar (Airport) station and Shahid Khudiram station (New Garia). Air passengers and other Kolkata Metro commuters are anticipated to gain a great deal from this.
“For the benefit of air travelers arriving at DumDum airport in the morning or late evening as well as other commuters, Metro Railway is introducing direct services from Jai Hind Bimanbandar station to Shahid Khudiram station on an experimental basis starting on 15.12.2025 (Monday),” the Kolkata Metro said in an official statement.
Direct Services To Shahid Khudiram From Jai Hind Bimanbandar starting on December 15
Kolkata metro services are now available on the Blue Line (Dakshineswar to Shahid Khudiram) and the Yellow Line (Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Noapara), according to a report by the news agency PTI.
On a trial basis, the Metro Railway will start running two direct trains between the stations of Jai Hind Bimanbandar and Shahid Khudiram on weekdays (Monday through Friday) on December 15. Passengers commuting to and from the airport as well as those traveling to other areas of the city are intended to benefit from these direct train services, which are planned for one morning peak hour and one late evening slot.

On weekdays, the Metro Railway will run two direct train metro services via Noapara between Jai Hind Bimanbandar and Shahid Khudiram. Currently, passengers must change at Noapara station, which is both the Blue Line’s interchange point and the Yellow Line’s terminus.
Commuters from the Jai Hind Bimanbandar (airport) station may now easily go to Esplanade, Kalighat, Mahanayak Uttam Kumar (Tollygunge), or Shahid Khudiram (New Garia) without changing trains thanks to the introduction of direct services.
According to PTI, the two new direct flights would leave Jai Hind Bimanbandar at 9:36 AM and 9:00 PM, respectively.
