Narasapur-Chennai Vande Bharat Launch: In order to expand the current Chennai-Vijayawada service, Indian Railway plans to start a Vande Bharat Express service that would link Chennai and Narasapur in Andhra Pradesh. On the Narasapur-Chennai route, the train will start running on December 15, 2025, while on the Chennai-Narasapur route, the return service will start on December 17, 2025.

The current Dr. MGR Chennai Central-Vijayawada Vande Bharat Express has been extended to Narasapur, according to a statement from the Southern Railway (SR) zone.

Train No. 20678 will begin service between Narasapur and Dr. MGR Chennai Central today, December 15, according to the Southern Railway.

According to The Indian Express, the return service, Train No. 20677, which connects Dr. MGR Chennai Central to Narasapur, would start operating on December 17.

With the exception of Tuesdays, the semi-high-speed train will operate six days a week, providing travelers with a quick and easy way to go from Coastal Andhra to Chennai.
