WaterCrisis –  Residents across several parts of Dwarka are facing a worsening water crisis as irregular supply and reports of contaminated water continue during the peak summer season. The growing shortage has disrupted routine life for families in multiple residential areas, forcing many households to depend heavily on private water tankers for daily needs.

Water Supply Issues Reported Across Several Sectors

People living in Sectors 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 10 and 11 of Dwarka, along with nearby localities such as Mahavir Enclave and Rajapuri, said the situation has become increasingly difficult over the past few days. Residents claimed that water supply timings have become highly unpredictable, while pressure levels remain too low in many colonies.

Several families stated that the water flow lasts only for a brief period in the early morning hours, leaving little time to collect and store enough water for the day. In some areas, residents alleged that taps have remained dry for days, creating serious inconvenience for households.

A resident from Sector 7 said families are being forced to wake up before dawn to fill buckets and storage containers because the supply often arrives for less than an hour. According to locals, the limited availability of clean water has affected cooking, washing, bathing and other basic domestic activities during the intense summer heat.

Dependence on Private Tankers Continues to Rise

The shortage has also increased reliance on private water tankers in several residential societies. Residents claimed that underground reservoirs and storage tanks are emptying quickly because of inconsistent municipal supply, leading many housing complexes to arrange frequent tanker deliveries.

Families living in apartment societies said repeated bookings of water tankers are adding unexpected financial pressure, particularly for middle-class households already managing rising living expenses. Some residents noted that tanker demand has sharply increased in recent weeks, resulting in delays and higher costs in certain areas.

Locals further alleged that the lack of a stable water schedule has created uncertainty for residents who are unable to plan daily usage effectively. Many families are now rationing stored water to ensure availability throughout the day.

Mahavir Enclave Residents Highlight Drinking Water Concerns

In Mahavir Enclave, residents said the situation has become more severe due to empty overhead tanks and limited access to safe drinking water. Several people claimed that the supply received in some pockets appeared dirty or unsuitable for regular consumption, raising concerns among families with children and elderly members.

According to local residents, the water shortage has disrupted normal routines in schools, homes and small businesses operating in the area. People have urged authorities to address the issue quickly before conditions worsen further in the coming weeks as temperatures continue to rise in the national capital region.

Demand for Long-Term Water Management Solutions

Residents across the affected areas are now seeking immediate intervention to restore regular supply and improve water quality. Many believe that temporary tanker arrangements cannot serve as a sustainable solution for densely populated residential zones during the summer months.

Citizens have also stressed the need for better planning and maintenance of water distribution infrastructure to prevent recurring shortages every year. Some resident welfare groups are reportedly preparing to raise the issue formally with civic agencies and water authorities to ensure quicker response and long-term relief measures.

With temperatures expected to remain high in the coming days, many households fear that the ongoing shortage could intensify if supply conditions do not improve soon.
