Tourism – Uttarakhand CM Invites Madhya Pradesh Leader for Char Dham Visit
Tourism – Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Jagdalpur on Tuesday and extended an invitation to visit the Himalayan state for the revered Char Dham Yatra. The meeting also focused on several issues linked to regional development and administrative cooperation between the two states.

Leaders Discuss Religious Tourism and Development
According to an official statement, Dhami invited Yadav to travel to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and take part in the Char Dham pilgrimage, one of the country’s most significant religious journeys. The interaction between the two chief ministers took place during Dhami’s visit to Jagdalpur, where both leaders exchanged views on matters of common interest.
The discussion reflected the growing emphasis on religious tourism and inter-state collaboration, particularly in areas connected to infrastructure, governance, and public welfare. The Char Dham circuit, which includes Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, continues to attract lakhs of pilgrims every year and remains a major contributor to Uttarakhand’s tourism economy.
Major Financial Approvals Cleared in Uttarakhand
Separately, the Uttarakhand government approved development proposals worth nearly Rs 1,344 crore on Monday. The sanctions cover a wide range of sectors, including electricity infrastructure, irrigation systems, drinking water supply, tourism facilities, parking arrangements, public buildings, and livestock conservation.
The Chief Minister’s Office stated that the approved projects are intended to strengthen public services and support long-term infrastructure growth across multiple districts in the state. Several schemes linked to district-level planning and rural development also received administrative and financial clearance.
Funds Released for Power and Water Projects
Among the approved works, the government cleared the release of the remaining Rs 63.62 lakh for tube well construction in Vikasnagar Colony, located in Bithoria No. 1 area of Nainital district. The project is expected to improve water availability for local residents.
In Bageshwar district, the state government approved the first instalment of Rs 2 crore for setting up power substations in the Saryu Valley and Shama regions under the Kapkot Assembly constituency. The total sanctioned amount for the project stands at Rs 6.54 crore.
Another approval included Rs 1.96 crore for bunch cable installation work in uncovered areas of the Dehradun Cantonment Assembly constituency. The amount forms part of a larger sanctioned project valued at Rs 4.92 crore aimed at strengthening power distribution systems.
Focus on Public Infrastructure and Beautification
The state administration also sanctioned Rs 25 lakh for the beautification of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Park and a nearby pond situated in Darau village under the Kichha Assembly constituency in Udham Singh Nagar district.
In Rudraprayag district, approval was granted for the release of Rs 1.54 crore as the first instalment for the construction of a non-residential office building for the Rural Construction Department in Raitoli village. The total approved project cost is Rs 3.85 crore.
Push for Indigenous Cow Conservation
One of the notable decisions taken by the state government relates to the conservation and promotion of Badri cows, an indigenous cattle breed associated with Uttarakhand’s hill regions. The government approved Rs 30.03 crore for related initiatives at Bhararisain under the animal husbandry department.
Officials said the move is aimed at preserving native livestock breeds while also supporting rural livelihoods connected to dairy and animal husbandry activities. The project is expected to encourage sustainable agricultural practices in the state’s mountainous areas.
