Conservation Leaders Gather for Major Wildlife Event

The 5th Royal Ranthambore International Tiger Week 2026 will officially commence on Friday under the theme “Conserve India’s Finest Tigers.” Organised by Live4Freedom LLP, the multi-day event aims to encourage stronger cooperation among conservation professionals, government representatives, forest officials, photographers, corporate leaders, researchers and wildlife enthusiasts committed to safeguarding India’s tiger population.

The programme is expected to serve as an important platform for exchanging ideas on conservation strategies, recognising outstanding contributions to wildlife protection, and raising public awareness about the long-term preservation of biodiversity.

Distinguished Guests to Lead the Inaugural Ceremony

The event will be inaugurated by former Delhi High Court judge Justice Dharmesh Sharma. Former Punjab Governor V. P. Singh Badnore will attend as the Guest of Honour and will also chair the jury responsible for selecting recipients of the International Tiger Week Conservation Awards 2026.

Their participation reflects the growing collaboration between public institutions, conservation organisations and civil society in promoting wildlife protection across the country.

Experts to Share Insights on Tiger Conservation

Several well-known personalities from the conservation sector will address the gathering during the event. Among the speakers are Dr. Anish Andheria, Dr. Latika Nath, Kartick Satyanarayan, Rahul Singh, Vijay Singh Meena and Antaraa Chatterjee.

The discussions are expected to focus on the progress made in tiger conservation, emerging environmental challenges, habitat management, anti-poaching initiatives and the importance of community participation in protecting wildlife.

Tribute to India’s Most Celebrated Tigers

One of the central attractions of this year’s programme will be a special session titled “Six Legendary Tigers of India.” The session will honour six iconic tigers—Machli, Maya, Dollar, Charger, Paro and Collarwali—whose remarkable stories have inspired wildlife enthusiasts and strengthened public awareness about tiger conservation over the years.

Their legacy continues to highlight the significance of preserving natural habitats and promoting responsible wildlife tourism.

Awards to Recognise Excellence in Wildlife Protection

The International Tiger Week Conservation Awards 2026 will recognise individuals and organisations that have made exceptional contributions to wildlife conservation. Awards will be presented across multiple categories, including conservation leadership, anti-poaching efforts, wildlife journalism, nature photography, initiatives promoting human-wildlife coexistence and lifetime achievement in conservation.

The organisers believe that recognising dedicated professionals can inspire greater commitment towards protecting endangered species and strengthening conservation efforts nationwide.

Competitions and Public Participation

Alongside expert discussions and award presentations, the event will feature a nationwide wildlife photography competition and a children’s painting contest designed to encourage greater interest in nature among younger generations.

Special recognition will also be given to frontline forest personnel whose dedication plays a vital role in protecting wildlife and maintaining the country’s protected forests.

By bringing together experts, policymakers and members of the public, the event seeks to strengthen collective efforts to ensure a sustainable future for India’s tigers and its rich wildlife heritage.
