AI System to Support Shrawani Mela Operations

For the first time, the state administration will deploy artificial intelligence-based systems to assist with crowd management during the Shrawani Mela in Deoghar, which is scheduled to begin on June 22. Officials have instructed law enforcement agencies to integrate modern technology into event operations to improve safety and streamline the movement of devotees.

According to officials familiar with the preparations, the AI-enabled system will provide continuous updates on crowd movement throughout the pilgrimage. The technology will help authorities monitor the number of visitors arriving at the venue, estimate the size of waiting lines, and assess the flow of devotees heading for worship. The initiative is expected to improve planning, reduce congestion, and support quicker decision-making during one of the state’s largest religious gatherings.

BJP Chief to Visit Jharkhand Before Rajya Sabha Polls

Amid the ongoing political activity surrounding the Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand, Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin is scheduled to visit the state for a two-day tour starting June 6.

The visit carries considerable political importance as it will be his first official trip to Jharkhand since assuming the party’s top leadership role. Sources indicate that Nabin is likely to meet senior state leaders and review preparations related to the upcoming elections. Discussions are also expected to focus on strengthening organisational activities and assessing the party’s electoral plans as the contest for two Rajya Sabha seats continues.

Political observers view the visit as a key opportunity for the party leadership to coordinate strategy and engage directly with state-level functionaries ahead of the crucial parliamentary election process.

Electric Buses Planned to Modernise Public Transport

In another major development, the Jharkhand government is moving forward with plans to introduce electric buses in several important districts. Officials said that nearly 50 electric buses are expected to be acquired during the initial phase of the programme.

The move is aimed at promoting cleaner and more sustainable transportation while reducing dependence on conventional fuel-powered vehicles. The first fleet will operate in selected districts, helping residents access environmentally friendly travel options.

The initiative also includes social welfare benefits, with students and senior citizens set to receive free travel facilities on these buses. Authorities believe the project will not only support green mobility goals but also make public transportation more accessible and affordable for vulnerable sections of society.

With technology-driven crowd management, evolving political activity, and investments in sustainable transport, Jharkhand is entering a period marked by modernization efforts across multiple sectors.
