SecurityOperation – Trump Announces Killing of Alleged Tren de Aragua Chief

SecurityOperation –  US President Donald Trump has announced that American forces carried out a military operation that resulted in the death of Héctor Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, widely known as “Niño Guerrero,” who has long been identified by authorities as the leading figure behind the Venezuelan criminal network Tren de Aragua. According to Trump, the mission was conducted in coordination with Venezuelan officials and marked a significant step in efforts to combat transnational organized crime.

Details of the Military Operation

In a statement shared on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said the operation was executed by the US Southern Command. He described it as a rapid military strike that successfully targeted Guerrero, whom he characterized as the head of one of the most dangerous criminal organizations operating in the Western Hemisphere.

The president stated that the action was ordered directly by his administration and was aimed at dismantling criminal networks that have been linked to violent activities across multiple countries.

Campaign Promise Highlighted

Trump connected the operation to commitments he made during his election campaign regarding border security and crime prevention. He said his administration had pledged to pursue individuals and groups accused of entering the United States illegally and carrying out violent offenses.

The president argued that the latest action demonstrated his administration’s determination to hold criminal organizations accountable and to address concerns raised by families affected by violent crimes.

Reference to Victims of Violent Crimes

During his remarks, Trump mentioned several Americans whose deaths have received national attention, including 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray and 22-year-old Laken Riley. He said the operation represented justice for victims and their relatives, describing it as part of a broader effort to confront organized criminal activity.

According to Trump, the mission was intended to send a message that individuals responsible for serious crimes would continue to face pressure from US authorities regardless of where they operate.

Criticism of Previous Immigration Policies

The president also used the announcement to criticize immigration policies implemented during the administration of former President Joe Biden. Trump argued that previous border policies allowed large numbers of undocumented migrants to enter the country, creating opportunities for criminal groups to expand their presence.

He maintained that stronger enforcement measures were necessary to reduce threats linked to organized crime and cross-border criminal operations.

Measures Against Criminal Organizations

Trump said his administration had already taken steps to classify Tren de Aragua as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. He added that federal authorities have intensified efforts to remove individuals accused of criminal activities and to disrupt networks involved in trafficking and other illicit operations.

The administration, he said, remains focused on targeting organizations that pose security challenges throughout the Americas.

Cooperation With Venezuela

A key aspect of the operation, according to Trump, was cooperation with Venezuelan authorities. He stated that communication and coordination between the two governments contributed to the mission’s success.

Trump further claimed that the operation reduced the ability of Tren de Aragua members to use Venezuela as a safe base for their activities. He pledged that US authorities would continue pursuing criminal leaders and networks wherever they are located.

Background on Tren de Aragua

Tren de Aragua originated in Venezuela and has expanded beyond its home country in recent years. Law enforcement agencies in several nations have linked the organization to a range of criminal activities, including drug trafficking, human smuggling, extortion, kidnapping, and other forms of organized crime.

The group’s growing influence across parts of Latin America has drawn increased attention from governments and security agencies, leading to coordinated efforts aimed at limiting its operations and disrupting its networks.
