Security – Counter Intelligence Operations Conducted Across Six Kashmir Districts

Security – Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir carried out a series of coordinated search operations on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation linked to terrorism-related activities in the Valley. Officials confirmed that the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of the police led the operation, targeting multiple locations across six districts following fresh intelligence inputs and investigative findings.

Security counter intelligence kashmir raids

The searches were launched during the early hours of the day after security agencies analyzed recent information gathered through technical surveillance and field investigations. According to officials, the operation was part of a broader effort to examine suspected networks believed to have connections with terror-related activities in the region.

Searches Conducted Across Multiple Districts

Officials said that a total of eight locations were searched during the coordinated action. Two sites each were covered in Srinagar and Bandipora districts, while one location each was searched in Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Baramulla districts.

Security personnel conducted the operations simultaneously to ensure the collection of relevant evidence and to prevent any potential destruction of material that could assist the investigation. The searches were carried out under established legal procedures and were monitored by the concerned authorities.

Investigation Linked to Earlier Terror Case

According to officials, the operation is connected to a case originally registered in 2015. Investigators believe the matter involves activities associated with Pakistan-backed terror organizations and their support structures operating within Jammu and Kashmir.

Authorities stated that the investigation focuses on suspected sleeper-cell networks and individuals allegedly involved in providing logistical support, recruitment assistance, and other facilitation activities linked to terrorism. The case has remained under periodic review as security agencies continue to gather intelligence and track potential threats.

Suspected Use of Encrypted Communication Platforms

Officials involved in the investigation said some of the individuals under scrutiny are suspected of maintaining communication with handlers based across the border. These contacts were allegedly conducted through encrypted digital platforms designed to conceal communication from security monitoring.

Investigators are examining electronic devices, documents, and other materials recovered during the searches to determine the nature and extent of these alleged connections. The collected evidence is expected to assist authorities in verifying communication patterns and identifying any wider network that may be operating in the region.

Focus on Extremist Propaganda and Radicalisation

Security agencies also suspect that certain individuals may have played a role in spreading extremist content and influencing vulnerable individuals through online channels. Officials said the investigation includes allegations related to the circulation of radical propaganda and efforts aimed at encouraging extremist ideologies.

Authorities emphasized that the searches are part of ongoing counterterrorism measures intended to safeguard public security and prevent unlawful activities. Further examination of the recovered material will help investigators determine whether additional action is required under relevant laws.

Officials indicated that the investigation remains active, and further developments may emerge as the analysis of evidence continues
