Politics – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday organised a special prayer ceremony and havan at the Ram Mandir in Shimla to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister in India to hold office continuously through a democratic mandate. The event also highlighted his return to power for a third consecutive term, a milestone that party leaders described as significant in the country’s political journey.
Religious Ceremony Held at Ram Mandir
Several senior BJP leaders, local representatives, and party workers gathered at the temple premises to participate in the religious rituals. During the ceremony, prayers were offered seeking good health, longevity, and continued public service from the Prime Minister. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from party members who viewed the occasion as an important moment for the organisation and its supporters.
BJP Leaders Highlight Government Initiatives
Addressing those present at the event, BJP MLA and Himachal Pradesh BJP Vice-President Vinod Kumar said Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has brought major changes to governance and public welfare. According to him, a number of government initiatives launched over the years have reached millions of beneficiaries across different sections of society.
He stated that completing three successive terms as Prime Minister reflects the confidence placed in Modi’s leadership by the people of the country. Kumar also noted that several welfare programmes introduced during the BJP-led government have contributed to improving access to public services and development schemes nationwide.
Modi’s Political Milestone Discussed
Speaking further, Kumar described the Prime Minister’s tenure as a notable chapter in contemporary Indian politics. He said the government’s focus on welfare measures and development-oriented policies has helped extend the benefits of various schemes to a large population.
According to the BJP leader, party workers across regions have expressed their support and appreciation for the Prime Minister’s continued contribution to national development. He added that the prayers offered during the event reflected those sentiments.
Congress Targeted Over Internal Differences
The occasion also saw political remarks directed at the Congress party. Responding to criticism from opposition leaders regarding alleged divisions within the BJP, Kumar argued that Congress should first address issues within its own organisation.
He claimed that recent statements made by Congress leaders against members of their own party leadership indicate internal disagreements. Referring to these developments, Kumar suggested that accusations aimed at the BJP were misplaced and did not reflect the current state of the party.

Emphasising the BJP’s organisational strength, Kumar said the party remains united and committed to its objectives. He maintained that the BJP has consistently functioned as a cohesive political force and rejected claims of factionalism within its ranks.
The prayer gathering concluded with participation from party workers and local leaders who joined the religious rituals conducted at the temple.
