PoliceOperation – Secunderabad Police Conduct Large Community Safety Drive in Lallaguda Areas
PoliceOperation – Authorities carried out a large-scale community outreach and enforcement exercise in parts of Secunderabad, combining security checks with direct interaction between police officials and local residents to address safety concerns.

Extensive Police Operation Covers Two Localities
A major community contact programme, supported by a comprehensive cordon and search operation, was organised in the Mangaru Basti and Addagutta localities under the jurisdiction of Lallaguda Police Station in Secunderabad. The initiative was supervised by Deputy Commissioner of Police Rakshitha Krishnamurthy as part of efforts to strengthen public safety, improve community engagement, and discourage criminal activity in the area.
The operation brought together senior police officers and a sizeable deployment of personnel for coordinated inspections across both neighbourhoods. Officials said the exercise was designed to enhance law enforcement visibility while building confidence among residents through direct communication.
Multi-Agency Team Participates in Enforcement Drive
The operation was led by Additional DCP Narsaiah along with ACP Chilkalguda Shashank Reddy, ACP Gandhinagar Yadagiri, ACP Mahankali Sridhar, and Lallaguda Police Station Inspector T. Ashok Kumar. Around 150 police personnel participated in the programme, supported by members of the Clues Team and Traffic Police.
Security teams carried out systematic checks at different locations, examining vehicles, verifying individuals where necessary, and monitoring areas identified as sensitive from a law and order perspective.
Vehicles and Liquor Seized During Inspections
According to police officials, 24 vehicles were taken into custody after they were found without valid documents or under circumstances that required further verification. Authorities stated that the vehicles would undergo the necessary legal procedures before any further action is taken.
During the same operation, officers also seized 15 liquor bottles that were allegedly stored or possessed in violation of applicable regulations. Police said the recovery formed part of routine enforcement aimed at ensuring compliance with existing laws.
Verification and Public Awareness Activities
As part of the programme, police verified the identities of five rowdy sheeters and ten other individuals considered suspicious. Officials also conducted counselling sessions, reminding them of the legal consequences of unlawful activities and encouraging them to maintain peaceful conduct within the community.
Beyond enforcement, the initiative focused on strengthening ties between residents and law enforcement agencies through direct public engagement.
DCP Meets Residents to Discuss Safety Concerns
During her visit, DCP Rakshitha Krishnamurthy met local residents from Mangaru Basti and Addagutta to hear their concerns related to neighbourhood security and civic issues. She encouraged citizens to cooperate with police by reporting suspicious movements or criminal activities without delay.
The DCP also highlighted the importance of installing CCTV cameras in residential areas, explaining that surveillance systems can play a significant role in preventing crime and assisting investigations whenever incidents occur.
Similar Search Operations Conducted in Other Cities
Comparable enforcement drives have also been carried out in other parts of the country. Earlier this year, North Delhi Police organised a large cordon and search operation along Milan Vihar Pushta Road under the Wazirabad Police Station limits after residents repeatedly raised concerns over poorly lit stretches that had allegedly become vulnerable to criminal activities.
During that operation, police secured entry and exit points while conducting detailed checks on people and vehicles. Officers also searched for illegal firearms, narcotic substances, stolen vehicles, and violations related to public drinking. Authorities said the objective was to disrupt criminal networks, increase police visibility, and restore public confidence by creating a safer environment for local communities.
