NEETReTest –  Authorities across Jammu and Kashmir have completed extensive preparations for the NEET (UG) re-examination scheduled for June 21, with special emphasis on security, transparency, and smooth management of the test process. Schools Designated for Examination Preparations

As part of the arrangements, academic activities have been temporarily suspended in 60 higher secondary schools across the Kashmir Valley. The move is intended to facilitate examination-related preparations and logistical requirements before the re-test. Officials clarified that no separate statewide closure order has been issued for educational institutions in the Jammu division, where regular academic activities are continuing as scheduled.

Examination Centres Spread Across Multiple Districts

To reduce travel difficulties for candidates, authorities have established examination centres in several districts across Jammu and Kashmir. These include Jammu, Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Kathua, Kupwara, Pulwama, Samba, and Udhampur. The decentralised approach is expected to help students reach their designated venues more conveniently and reduce pressure on transportation networks.

Surveillance and Monitoring Arrangements Reviewed

District administrations have conducted detailed reviews of security infrastructure at examination venues. Officials have inspected strong rooms, surveillance systems, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance with National Testing Agency (NTA) guidelines. CCTV coverage and videography arrangements have been made mandatory to maintain transparency and prevent any form of malpractice during the examination process.

Candidates Advised to Follow Entry Guidelines

Authorities have urged candidates to carefully follow the reporting schedule mentioned on their admit cards. Students must carry their NEET admit card, a valid government-issued photo identification document, and recent passport-sized photographs. Candidates have also been instructed to adhere to the prescribed dress code issued by the NTA and arrive at their examination centres at least one hour before the reporting time to avoid last-minute complications.

NTA Reiterates Commitment to Fair Examination Process

The National Testing Agency has stated that all necessary measures are being taken to uphold fairness, transparency, and credibility in the medical admissions process. Officials emphasized that strict monitoring and administrative oversight will be maintained throughout the conduct of the re-examination.

Background of the Re-Examination

The NEET UG re-test has been ordered after the cancellation of the examination conducted on May 3. The decision followed serious allegations related to question paper leaks and examination irregularities that raised concerns about the fairness of the test.

Investigations found evidence suggesting that some candidates had access to study material containing a significant number of questions that closely matched those appearing in the actual examination. Authorities reported that such material had allegedly circulated weeks before the test, undermining confidence in the examination process.

Investigation Into Alleged Paper Leak Continues

Investigative agencies, including the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG), uncovered handwritten notes and digital documents that reportedly matched a large number of questions from the examination. The findings led to wider concerns regarding organised networks allegedly involved in distributing leaked content to aspirants in exchange for substantial payments.

In view of the seriousness of the allegations, the Central Government transferred the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The agency is currently conducting a comprehensive inquiry to identify those responsible and determine whether larger organised groups were involved in the alleged malpractice.
