Four Family Members Found Dead in Morena Village

A tragic incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district has claimed the lives of four members of the same family after a man allegedly killed his wife and two young sons before taking his own life. Police believe the sequence of events unfolded late Friday night in Kishanpur village under the Basaiya police station area, although the precise reason behind the crime is still under investigation.

According to officials, the accused has been identified as 35-year-old Balram Singh Kushwaha. Investigators allege that he attacked his wife, 32-year-old Ravita Kushwaha, along with their sons Aarav, aged eight, and Debu, aged five, inside their residence. Soon after the alleged killings, he is believed to have gone to a nearby railway crossing, where he died after coming in front of a moving train.

Police Probe Multiple Possible Motives

Police officials have indicated that domestic disagreements and financial stress are among the possible reasons being examined. However, they have clarified that no conclusion has yet been reached and every angle is being carefully investigated.

Early findings suggest that the couple had been experiencing frequent disputes over the past month. Investigators are also collecting statements from relatives, neighbours and other individuals connected with the family to better understand the events leading up to the incident.

Victims Were Allegedly Attacked Inside Their Home

According to the preliminary investigation, the woman was reportedly sleeping in the courtyard when she was attacked with an axe. Police believe the two children were then assaulted using the same weapon. All three victims suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene.

Officials said the crime remained unnoticed overnight because the house was enclosed by a high boundary wall, preventing neighbours from detecting anything unusual.

Neighbours Alerted Police the Next Morning

The incident came to light on Saturday morning when local residents noticed that the house remained locked from the outside. Growing suspicious, they looked inside the property and discovered the bodies before immediately informing the police.

Law enforcement officers secured the area, collected physical evidence and initiated a detailed forensic examination. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations as part of the ongoing investigation.

Forensic Team Examining Every Aspect

Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Bhadoria stated that forensic experts visited the crime scene to gather scientific evidence. Investigators are now reconstructing the timeline and verifying witness statements to establish the exact sequence of events.

Police have also confirmed that Balram worked as a marble polisher in Bengaluru and had returned to his native village around a month ago. Officials are examining reports suggesting that he had recently received a WhatsApp video showing his wife participating in a Bhagwat Katha programme. However, investigators stressed that these reports are only one part of the inquiry and have not been linked conclusively to the incident.

Authorities further revealed that the couple had reportedly been living separately for some time following repeated arguments, and Ravita had returned from her parental home only a few days before the tragedy.

Investigation Continues

Police have reiterated that the investigation remains in its early stages. Officials said domestic conflict, financial issues and other personal circumstances are all being examined before any final conclusion is reached. They added that further action will depend on the findings of forensic analysis, post-mortem reports and other evidence collected during the investigation.
