A small landslide was recorded on Tuesday evening at Malshej Ghat, a key roadway linking Thane district with Pune. Authorities stated that the incident occurred between two commonly known points on the ghat section during the evening hours. The rainfall-induced slide led to the accumulation of mud and debris on a portion of the road.

Quick Response Prevents Traffic Disruption

Disaster management teams immediately deployed excavation equipment to the affected stretch after receiving information about the landslide. Officials said the debris was removed within a short period, allowing vehicles to continue using the route without major interruptions. No motorists or pedestrians were affected by the incident.

The Regional Disaster Management Cell reported receiving 27 complaints from different locations across Thane district during the last 24 hours. Most of the reports were linked to adverse weather conditions. Among them were 18 incidents involving uprooted trees or broken branches, while four calls were related to fire emergencies.

Tree Collapse Damages Parked Vehicles
