MedicalEntranceExam – Authorities across India have stepped up administrative and security preparations ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, which is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday. The nationwide medical entrance test is one of the country’s largest competitive examinations, prompting officials to implement extensive measures to ensure a smooth, transparent, and secure process for millions of candidates.
Inspection of Examination Centres in Delhi
In the national capital, officials have been carrying out inspections at designated examination venues to verify that all arrangements are in place before the test. During a visit to a Government Boys Senior Secondary School in Ashok Vihar, an appointed observer reviewed the facilities and expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness.
According to the observer, the centre met all necessary requirements for conducting the examination. Five schools in the area have been selected as examination venues, and inspections are being completed at each location to confirm readiness before candidates arrive.
Extensive Preparations in Prayagraj
In Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district, local authorities have introduced a comprehensive security plan for the examination. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma stated that the test will be held at 47 centres across the district, with nearly 23,000 students expected to participate.
To maintain strict supervision, static and sector-level officials have been assigned to every examination centre. Their responsibilities include overseeing all activities related to the examination process. Additional police personnel and paramilitary forces have also been deployed to strengthen security arrangements throughout the day.
Officials will remain present from the arrival of question papers at examination centres until answer sheets and other materials are collected and transported back after the test concludes.
Transportation and Health Facilities for Students
Authorities have also focused on reducing difficulties for candidates travelling to and from examination venues. Meetings were conducted with railway and road transport officials to ensure proper coordination at major transit points.
The district administration confirmed that transportation concessions announced by the state government for students are being implemented. Special teams from the transport department have been deployed across the city to address any travel-related issues that may arise on examination day.
Considering the prevailing summer conditions, medical support has been arranged at multiple locations. Ambulances and healthcare teams will remain on standby to provide immediate assistance if required.
Security Deployment in Ajmer
In Rajasthan’s Ajmer district, officials have completed preparations for the re-examination with a strong focus on security. Around 300 police personnel are expected to be stationed at various examination centres to maintain order and prevent any disruptions.
Additional Superintendent of Police Himanshu Jangid stated that law enforcement officers have been instructed to remain vigilant and ensure strict adherence to examination guidelines. Security protocols have been reinforced for the movement of question papers and answer sheets, with armed personnel assigned to accompany transportation teams.
Strong rooms used for storing examination materials will also remain under continuous police monitoring to safeguard the integrity of the process.
Examination Schedule and Guidelines
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has advised candidates to reach their allotted centres between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm. Officials have clarified that entry gates will close at 1:30 pm, and no candidate will be allowed to enter after the deadline.
The examination will be conducted in offline pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. This year’s re-examination is set to take place across 551 cities in India and 14 international locations. More than 22.79 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the test on June 21, making it one of the largest entrance examinations conducted in the country.
